What is your career plan?
I knew this was the answer 25 years before it happened. It’s not that I didn’t enjoy the work that I did, but it was only a couple of stairs in Life and there were more stairs before and after.
At the end work was getting in the way of my life. I had so much going on at the time and still have so much to do.

Career plan:
Develop a marketable skill
Ensure job-related health care
Remain debt free
Accumulate savings which earn interest
Be economically secure before Social Security eligibility
Realization:
Joined Navy
Became electronics technician
Earned merit-based commission
Retired at 44
Finished MA degree with G.I. Bill
Taught at university
Retired at 66
Now enjoying MediCare, Tricare, military retirement, teaching retirement, and Social Security
Conclusion:
Success.
