I wrote about this here. It’s a whole list of words, different for men and women and cliche’s that should be killed.
They all annoy me and I’d eliminate them all.

Well, as a teacher of English at university for years, I have a long list of such words and phrases, such as the reason is because (in which the linking verb suggests that an adverb relates to a noun) and center around (which is a Euclidean impossibility).
But with age came the realization that people don’t appreciate being corrected for language flaws which nearly everyone uses and basically understands, such as could care less.
So I abandoned the practice of pointing out their error and trained myself to remember that the whole idea of language is to communicate, so if the point is clear, who gives a damn if the grammar is shaky.
Still, however, I find myself offended when I hear such things as Barack Obama or threat to our democracy or antisemitism. I genuinely believe that virtually NOBODY knows that nearly all the people in Israel and its neighboring countries are Semites EXCEPT the Ashkenazi European Jews who flocked there after WWII.
People with ancestry tied to the Levant ARE semites, and probably 90% of them are Muslims (descendants of Shem) whereas nearly all Ashkenzis are descendants of Japheth.
‘Course there’s not a damned thing I can do about that either, so I simply smile at their ignorance and go on with my bidness of having contempt for nearly everyone who couldn’t pass a grade-school history exam.
