The Woke Names And Cancel Culture Are Going, Going……Gone. Now Bring Back The Statues

It’s not just Mount McKinley.

Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth has just renamed the US Army base in North Carolina, ‘Fort Liberty’, back to it’s previous name ‘Fort Bragg’ – but he did it with a twist.

Fox News reporter Lucas Tomlinson reported tonight that Hegseth has renamed the Army base to Fort Roland L. Bragg.

Instead of being named after a Confederate general, as it was previously, it will now be named after a “World War II hero who earned the Silver Star and Purple Heart for his exceptional courage during the Battle of the Bulge.”

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has signed a new memorandum renaming Fort Liberty in North Carolina to Fort Roland L. Bragg.

Hegseth signed the memo shortly before landing in Stuttgart, Germany aboard a U.S. Air Force C-17.

The name Fort Bragg is coming back, but with a twist. It will not be named after the former Confederate general.

Instead, the new name pays tribute to Pfc. Roland L. Bragg, a World War II hero who earned the Silver Star and Purple Heart for his exceptional courage during the Battle of the Bulge.

I bet they called it Bragg on base and out in the field anyway. Leave it to liberals to mess up anything and try to cancel Western Civilization

BWBB – Another Hate Hoax Exposed; Former stripper, convicted killer Crystal Mangum finally confesses to lying about being raped by Duke lacrosse players in 2006

I was living there when it happened. We knew she was lying the whole time, but she still ruined the lives of some Duke students. I have no love for Duke, having had to work with their graduates, but I wouldn’t wish this on anyone.

Here goes:

Former stripper and convicted murderer Crystal Mangum admitted Thursday that she lied and “made up a story” that three Duke University lacrosse players raped her at a team party in 2006.

“They trusted me that I wouldn’t betray their trust, and I testified falsely against them by saying that they raped me when they didn’t, and that was wrong,” Magnum told the independent media outlet Let’s Talk With Kat at the North Carolina Correctional Institution for Women.

“[I] made up a story that wasn’t true.”

Mangum, 46, said she made up the allegation because she “wanted validation from people and not from God.”

The exotic dancer, who is in prison for the second-degree murder of her boyfriend in 2013, asked former players David Evans, Collin Finnerty and Reade Seligmann for forgiveness.

“I hope that they can forgive me,” she said, referring to the men as her “brothers” in the biblical sense. “I want them to know that I love them, and they didn’t deserve that, and I hope that they can forgive me.”

Mangum had never publicly stated that she fabricated the rape allegation before Thursday’s revelation.

How Helene Gave Way to ‘Hurricane Snafu’ in the Carolinas

It wasn’t as if the Tar Heel State didn’t see Hurricane Helene coming. On Sept. 25, one day before Helene stormed ashore, North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper declared a state of emergency as the storm’s path showed it churning northward toward Appalachia after making landfall in Florida.

Yet that advance declaration was not followed by any state evacuation orders, and the population largely sheltered in place as Helene hit the steep, wooded hills of Western North Carolina, squatting over the area, unleashing more than an inch of water an hour for more than a day.

The unprecedented, relentless downpour, falling on ground already saturated by rain the week before, tore old pines and hardwoods out by the roots, creating arboreal torpedoes that rocketed down the steep inclines; water that turned photogenic stony creeks into whitewater torrents, lifting ancient streambed boulders and tossing them like chips on to roads and into homes and buildings.

The storm left 230 people dead, nearly half of them in North Carolina, with dozens still missing as of early November.

As residents in Asheville, Chimney Creek, and other smaller communities continue to pick up from the carnage, after-action reports indicate government agencies at the federal and state levels were slow to react.

Interviews with several private relief groups that sprang into action after Helene, along with statistics provided by congressional sources, indicate that Cooper’s office and the Biden administration were slow to activate military personnel and assets like helicopters that were critical in the days after the storm.

In addition, budgetary moves and internal communications have also drawn questions about how the Federal Emergency Management Agency is spending its money and how it envisioned its purpose in a Biden administration suffused with “diversity, equity, and inclusion” mandates.

FEMA is also wrestling with revelations that politics had influenced some of its relief efforts. The agency fired a staffer who told crews to avoid houses in storm-damaged parts of Florida that displayed Donald Trump campaign signs. The dismissed worker said this week her orders were not an isolated incident and that FEMA avoided “politically hostile” zones in the Carolinas, too.

FEMA, No Money For Hurricane Helene Victims In NC, But Still Paying $9,000 For COVID Funerals, Billions On Pandemic Payouts

As the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) carries out widely criticized responses to Hurricanes Helene and Milton, officials say the agency’s Disaster Recovery Fund is incapable of handling a third major storm. While some are circulating false accusations that disaster funds have been diverted to immigrants or poured into the proxy war in Ukraine, a review of the agency’s 2024 outlays reveals a different, ongoing drain on FEMA’s coffers: Long after the end of the declared Covid-19 emergency, FEMA is still pumping out billions of dollars to pay for pandemic expenses — including, believe it or not, up to $9,000 each for funerals.

Under Administrator Deanne Criswell, FEMA is still paying out billions of dollars in Covid-19-era reimbursements (screenshot from ABC News)

As previously detailed here at Stark Realities, governments’ response to the Covid-19 pandemic was disastrous on many fronts. While the Pandora’s box of collateral damage included widespread harm to the physical and mental health of individuals, it also dealt a blow to the nation’s fiscal well-being, as the federal government recklessly showered trillions of dollars it didn’t have on people, businesses and state and local governments — with much of that money intended to offset the effects of government’s own tyrannical and counterproductive policies.

It’s Not Like They Were Helping Anyway

FEMA Says It Won’t Help in North Carolina Because It Feels Threatened By Locals.

The Biden-Harris Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) says it has temporarily suspended certain Hurricane Helene relief operations in several North Carolina communities due to perceived threats against federal aid workers. According to FEMA, federal disaster relief operations were halted in Rutherford County after the agency received reports from the National Guard that an “armed militia” was allegedly threatening relief workers.

“For the safety of our dedicated staff and the disaster survivors we are helping, FEMA has made some operational adjustments,” an agency spokesman said in a statement on Monday. They added: “Disaster Recovery Centers will continue to be open as scheduled, survivors continue to register for assistance, and we continue to help the people of North Carolina with their recovery.”

It turned out to be just one guy, the whole NC militia was one guy, FEMA is just that incompetent.

Should have just let the locals fix everything and give them the money. They did the work and all the help anyway, them and Samaritan’s Purse

What FEMA Blew the Money On Besides Illegal Aliens

If FEMA is worse than useless during hurricanes, it isn’t because the moonbat bureaucrats in charge bestowed all the money upon illegal aliens. Some of the money went to promoting transgenderism and DEI:

In the last 2 years, FEMA spent nearly $2 million on a sole source contract with Montage Marketing Group to promote extremist LGBTQ and DEI agendas. …

Montage was hired to implement FEMA’s “Inclusive Diversity Council” and work with FEMA’s “employee resource groups” (ERGs) that focus on leftist social agendas, including an LGBT advocacy group simply called “Pride.” Montage was tasked with promoting the “Transgender Day of Remembrance” through graphic design and video production.

Promoting degeneracy and sexual depravity may not be as important as displacing the American population with unlawful invaders from the Third World, but it takes priority over helping rural white people whose homes have washed away.

The federal level of incompetence could not be achieved without the help of DEI:

Another FEMA top priority is making sure they don’t have too many white people working in the agency, stating that diversity, equity, and inclusion is not optional. The FEMA director told Congress in 2023 the agency was adapting its recruiting efforts to hire “minorities.”

More social engineering:

FEMA further dictates to their employees that bathroom use must be based on a person’s self-identified sex, not biological sex, and employees must not misgender or fail to use a person’s preferred pronouns.

Reality itself takes a back seat to moonbat ideology, so victims of Helene and Milton shouldn’t take their abandonment personally.

If you had a million dollars to give away, who would you give it to?

If you had a million dollars to give away, who would you give it to?

Samaritan’s Purse..

They are the group that has helped the Helene victims the most. They have the people’s interest in mind, both body and soul, more than everyone else.

The government hasn’t done much more than get in the way, but a week before FEMA came, Samaritan’s Purse was set up, cleaning up and distributing aid and medical assistance.

FEMA Whistleblowers Allege Waste, Including Deployed Employees Sitting Idle in Hotels

The federal government has failed miserably in helping those affected by Hurricane Helene.

Mayorkas caused more trouble when he said FEMA doesn’t have enough money.

The letter doesn’t provide many specifics. I doubt Mayorkas will give any answers soon.

“FEMA has wasted taxpayer funds, misappropriated funds, and left other federal, state, and local responders without deployment orders on the ground,” wrote Gaetz. “As reported and further confirmed by my office, hundreds, if not thousands of service members were deployed by the Department of Defense to North Carolina and have sat idle, waiting for FEMA.”

Gaetz continued: “We have confirmed FEMA employees deployed, on the clock, awaiting orders in the hotel. FEMA pre-disaster aid was withheld, exacerbating the emergency. It is also public that NGOs have purchased airline tickets for migrants through the use of FEMA funds.”

Gaetz wants Mayorkas to answer these questions by October 11:

  • (1) What policies and regulations of the Department of Homeland Security and FEMA prevent emergency funds from being wasted on illegal immigrants, including what conditions are placed on grantees of the agency?; and
  • (2) Of FEMA’s total budget for FY 2024, what portion of funds can be guaranteed to have been spent solely on American citizens, and what portion of funds was or may have been spent on noncitizens?; and
  • (3) In FY 2024, what portion of funds in the Disaster Relief Fund have been spent on non-disaster-relief programs, such as providing services to illegal aliens or providing routine training to FEMA employees authorized out of general appropriations?

FEMA Whistleblowers Allege Waste, Including Deployed Employees Sitting Idle in Hotels

Sources on the ground in hurricane-ravaged Tennessee and North Carolina tell The Federalist FEMA continues to fail many of the victims.

Perhaps the most fitting image of the Biden-Harris administration’s response to the destruction of Hurricane Helene — and Vice President Kamala Harris’ time in office — is that staged photo of a pensive-looking VP sitting at a table on Air Force Two with what appears to be blank pages before her.

The photo, posted on Harris’ official X account, was manufactured to illustrate how the Democrat presidential nominee was springing into action days after the Category 4 hurricane pounded a wide swath of the Southeast. It was a CYA moment after the political climber, like part-time President Joe Biden, was caught flat-footed on the campaign trail. Harris’ opponent, former President Donald Trump, like many others, rightly lambasted the phony photo-op, calling it “Another FAKE and STAGED photo from someone who has no clue what she is doing,”

Hurricane Helene Exposes A Deep Betrayal Of America

Americans across several states are suffering and attempting to survive under unimaginably harsh conditions, without food and water, in that aftermath of Hurricane Helene which tore across ten states in the Southeast last week, leaving a path of destruction in its wake. And a week later, these people have found that they are largely on their own, as all the real help that has arrived has come through the efforts of individuals and nonprofit groups such as Samaritan Purse, Mountain Mule Packers Ranch, Save Our Allies and Aerial Recovery, which has exposed the fact — to anyone who didn’t already know — that the Biden regime doesn’t give a good damn about them, as Biden and his minions have engaged in not just dereliction of duty but the worst betrayal of the American people ever witnessed, since the birth of the nation.

Joe Biden, the placeholder-in-chief, showed up in Georgia [10-3-24] to give lip-service to the disaster and made promises of money to come, some twenty million dollars, and a recovery that will supposedly be totally undertaken by the federal government. No one should hold their breath waiting on that help to arrive, but if it does, they can bet the farm it will come with the intent of helping Biden special interest groups and supporters first.

Americans should note: $20 million for the victims of Helene and well over $640 million for illegal aliens and approximately $180 BILLION for Ukraine. When does THIS Damned MADNESS Stop!?!

It’s an astounding matter that despite assertions of nineteen thousand National Guardsmen and FEMA workers already being on the ground in those states most severely affected, from Florida to Tennessee and Georgia and on to the horrific situation near Asheville, North Carolina, no one can find them, as FEMA workers are simply sitting in their trucks and sending out mass emails with an app for the victims of Helene to use to apply for financial help, rebuilding their homes, and most importantly finding a way to have food and water and medicines sent their way as soon as possible — THIS in areas where there currently isn’t electricity or any cellphone reception and internet.

It’s a curious thing to witness this tragic situation compounded by the inaction of the federal government and federal workers, agencies and the U.S. military all missing in action as the victims keep asking where all these mysterious government workers are supposedly delivering aid and much needed necessities to anyone.

Where is the federal government? No one has seen much of an inkling from it yet.

For survivors in the Asheville, North Carolina area, Mountain Mule Packer Ranch has left this number — 910-885-1402 — for anyone who knows of specific needs and areas where they can be of assistance with their mule trains.

The military should have been brought up immediately and released under Title 10 to immediately render aid throughout all regions devastated by Hurricane Helene which has killed over 224 people and counting to date, with thousands of more people missing and their whereabouts unaccounted, especially with Ft Bragg right there in North Carolina and Ft Benning in Georgia. Several individual volunteers like John Howard, with Aerial Recovery, have told of speaking with various military units that were on the ground but awaiting authorization and orders to release them to act, including two Air Force helicopters that were simply sitting idle at the Asheville Airport.

And There It Is, Why FEMA Is Incompetent – Diversity

You have probably seen many of the same videos I have, in which North Carolina residents are begging for help and wondering where FEMA is. Aside from funding migrants, that is. It seems to be doing a fine job at that, exhausting the funds that should be going to help Helene’s victims.

Here’s the underlying reason why they aren’t getting any help.

As always, get woke and go broke. They say there is no money for Hurricane relief. There is no money for republican voters.

Diversity ruins everything it touches

Chapel Hill Schools – Cheating Is So Unsurprising

I lived near there for over 20 years. It is in the Raleigh area geographically, but is more like the set of The View politically.

When you go there, it is a different world that most of North Carolina. You feel like you just went to Boston, Washington or a similar virtually all blue city. When it comes to woke, it’s hard to beat Chapel Hill and Carborro.

When RTP was developed, all the people who came from the North East cities gathered there. It went downhill ever since. What used to be a nice state was invaded by northerners who turned it into a leftarded gathering place. At least they flock together

Of course the oldest university in the country is there, better known for basketball than it’s academics recently. There have been many issues like Moderna working with UNC-CH on gain of function for Covid-19, removing statues because someone got their little blue feelings hurt and other examples. It isn’t the academic powerhouse it used to be.

I found it to be one of the more embarrassing parts of living in NC. In a state that has mostly polite people and a nice atmosphere, the people that congregate there are liberal birds of a feather. There are pockets of libtards there, and most academic cities. Who would have guessed that?

I’ve worked with a lot of people there. They match Columbia U, Harvard and Notre Dame for a sense of entitlement and far more unqualified that you’d expect.

I wouldn’t send my kids to this cesspool school system. I paid more for an education that produced a critical thinker, rather than a woke sheep

The school district just provided this gem.

In 2021, the Chapel Hill School District hired a new Superintendent, Nyah Hamlett, Ed.D.  (The previous superintendent resigned following revelations that she hired an educational equity consultant company without school board approval.)  The new hire came from Loudoun County, Virginia, a district infamous for woke controversies, including a female raped in the girls bathroom by a boy wearing a skirt.  During Hamlett’s tenure as Chief of Staff for Loudoun County Schools, the district developed an “Action Plan to Combat Systemic Racism” including a “Student Equity Ambassador program” that would later be challenged in a lawsuit as viewpoint discrimination under the First Amendment and Equal Protection Clause.

Dr. Hamlett immediately emphasized equity following her move to Chapel Hill.  “It’s really about modeling equity in the work that we do, and having it embedded in everything that we do…. Equity is something that has to support, and be the foundation of, our work,” she stated

With significant support and involvement from Hamlett, Chapel Hill Schools released its “Think (and Act) Differently” 2027 Strategic Plan with five core values: Engagement, Social Justice Action, Collective Efficacy, Wellness, Joy.  Clearly the strategic plan encourages a child’s call to activism over academic achievements, and the children must show “joy” in this vision.  To push partisan activism on kids, Hamlett receives a $226,000 per year government salary.

Not unlike the “Student Equity Ambassador” program of Loudoun County, Hamlett started an “Equity and Empathy Ambassador Program” in Chapel Hill composed of 39 high schoolers from the district.  To Hamlett’s delight, her personal ambassadors of wokism successfully lobbied the district to eliminate class rankings.  The deputized social-justice warriors have their sights set on rendering homework useless, calling for grades based on completion rather than accuracy.  Without grades, there can be no inequities.

Unfortunately, recent controversy has disrupted Hamlett’s march toward a more equitable but less academic future here in North Carolina.  An anonymous tip led a local newspaper, the News & Observer, to investigate whether Hamlett plagiarized portions of her education doctorate dissertation.  The article included interviews with three plagiarism experts, reporting:

The multiple examples of duplicate wording and incorrectly cited sources suggest intentional plagiarism, two experts told The N&O, although a third expert viewed it more as a case of sloppy work.

The credible questions of plagiarism against the school superintendent could not stand.  In an open letter that deserves to be read in Greta’s “How dare you!” voice, a self-described “multiracial group came together because of concern that [the] superintendent was undergoing this kind of attack.”  According to the authors, investigations of plagiarism are racist and a clear violation of public transit slogans.  The letter quoted one teacher asking, “If she wasn’t a Black woman, would they be asking these same questions about her dissertation?”  Asserting, “It’s not typical that we scrutinize the academic work our leaders completed as students,” (Hamlett’s dissertation was published only five years ago) the authors insisted, “Black educators in our town report exaggerated levels of scrutiny and suspicion regarding their academic backgrounds and their work.”
