Policies of Former NC Dem Governor Cooper Led To Train Stabbing Of Iryna

Since video surfaced of the Aug. 22 murder of 23-year-old Ukrainian refugee Iryna Zarutska, the White House, along with congressional and state Republicans, has assailed Cooper’s Task Force for Racial Equity in Criminal Justice (TREC), which he established in 2020.

Republicans say TREC, created to “ensure racial equity in North Carolina’s criminal justice system,” is the reason Decarlos Brown Jr. was free to be on the train when Zarutska sat in the row in front of him on her way home from work.

Former Republican National Committee Chair Michael Whatley, who’s running against Cooper for the open U.S. Senate seat in North Carolina in 2026, pinned the blame on TREC for policies like cashless bail.

“In 2020, my Democrat opponent, Roy Cooper, tasked a group of extreme leftists with advising him on implementing his executive order, which introduced weak-on-crime policies to North Carolina’s justice system regarding ‘pretrial release, fees, and fines,'” Whatley said in a post this week. “These policy changes empowered dangerous criminals, such as Decarlos Brown Jr., the murderer of Iryna Zarutska.”

Massive White Shark Bears Down on N.C. Outer Banks

Scientists call him Contender. He’s the largest white shark ever recorded in the Atlantic Ocean, and he’s making his way toward North Carolina’s Outer Banks.

The last telemetry recording showed the big shark a short distance off Pamlico Sound along the state’s coast, about 100 miles south of Norfolk, Virginia.

The website Ocearch tracks the shark and shows that the ocean predator has been prowling offshore for a few days.

The shark was tagged off the Florida coast on Jan. 17. Ocearch said Contender will be a valuable part of ocean research now that he’s been tagged.

2 Days After Pledging Shelter for Rich LA Libs, Biden Boots 3,000 NC Families Into Streets During Snow Storm

I’m visiting there and it is covered in snow and single digits in temperature.

With just days left in his administration, President Joe Biden is showing America he has priorities.

The wrong priorities, sure — but priorities nonetheless.

Take the victims of the Southern California wildfires. Sure, a lot needs to be done in the area that’s been leveled by epochal blazes where the damage has been exacerbated by desperately unready public officials.

On Thursday, Biden promised to pay for 100 percent of the disaster over the next six months during a briefing from Washington.

“I told the governor and local officials, spare no expense to do what they need to do and contain these fires,” he said during remarks at the White House,  calling the fires “devastating” and “catastrophic.”

“We’re doing literally everything we can at a federal level,” he added.

They found 3 people frozen to death last week. How about helping others besides yourself in your final act as a president?
