Scientists at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital explored how mutations in mitochondrial DNA contribute to cancer, the extent of their impact, and when and how they become a factor. Mitochondria act as energy factories in cells and have their own, separate DNA. Mutations to mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) have been observed in cancer, but it has been unclear how these changes might affect cancer growth. To find answers, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital scientists combined computational tools and DNA sequencing technologies to examine these mtDNA mutations in cancer cells closely. Their new method lets scientists pinpoint when these mutations occur, how they change as cancer develops and whether they affect how cancer cells behave. The results of this study were published today in Science Advances.
Exploring the role that individual mtDNA mutations have on cancer has historically been difficult. “Each cell contains hundreds of copies of mitochondrial DNA; so, a mutation might be present at low levels in many cells, or at high levels in just a subset of cells,” said corresponding author Mondira Kundu, MD, PhD, St. Jude Department of Cell & Molecular Biology. “These different patterns can have dramatically different effects on how cells function.”
mtDNA mutations are not random passengers in cancer
To overcome this challenge, the team combined several techniques, including powerful computational tools, statistical analyses, bulk whole genome sequencing and single-cell studies. This approach allowed them to determine how much mitochondrial DNA was mutated in each cell, and when these changes happened in relation to cancer development. Surprisingly, the researchers found that some mitochondrial DNA mutations occur before a cell turns cancerous — and that these mutations are not always random. It appears that in some cases, cancer cells actively “select” for a mix of normal and mutated mitochondrial DNA.
“This approach allowed us to tell apart harmless ‘passenger’ mutations from those that may help cancer grow,” Kundu explained. “That’s something the field has struggled with until now.”
Kundu’s team took the analysis further by deploying a tool, called NetBID2, created by co-author Jiyang Yu, PhD, St. Jude Department of Computational Biology interim chair. With this tool, the researchers found evidence that mtDNA may contribute to therapy resistance. They discovered a mtDNA mutation linked to changes in pathways associated with resistance to glucocorticoids, a common therapy for acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Further analysis suggested that this type of mitochondrial mutation may make leukemia cells more likely to resist treatment.
While this research highlights the role mitochondrial DNA mutations might play in leukemia, the main achievement is the creation of a novel multidimensional approach to investigate mtDNA. Kundu is optimistic about the value of digging deeper into this overlooked feature of cancer growth.
“This work shows that mitochondrial DNA can influence both how leukemia starts and how it progresses,” said Kundu. “The next important step is to apply this approach to many more patient samples, so we can fully understand its impact.”
mRNA vaccination causes long-term changes in a crucial part of our chromosomes — changes previously linked to inflammatory and autoimmune diseases and cancers including leukemia and brain tumors.
The finding came in a peer-reviewed paper from German researchers last week. The discovery might help explain post-mRNA jab “inflammatory diseases which occur in… [some] vaccinated individuals,” the researchers wrote.
In a discussion with outside reviewers that was published along with the paper, the researchers suggested the changes they found are “very likely” occurring in bone marrow cells, the source of all blood cells. Their finding comes as other researchers report rising deaths from leukemia – a blood cancer – in very highly vaccinated Japan.
In the paper, published in the journal Molecular Systems Biology on March 25, the German researchers examined changes in the chromosomes of macrophages in people who had received mRNA Covid shots.
Macrophages are immune cells that circulate in the blood and attack and destroy foreign invaders like viruses and bacteria. The scientists found alterations in a crucial part of the macrophage chromosome called the histone.
Genetic scientists compare histones to drums around which cables of DNA are wrapped. Unlike DNA itself, the histones do not contain actual genetic information, but they provide the structure for it.
As a result, histones play a crucial role in processing genetic material. When they are bunched closely together, the DNA they hold is hard to access, so the cellular machinery that uses DNA to make proteins cannot do so. When histones are more widely separated, cells will process, or transcribe, DNA more actively — potentially leading to tumor growth.

The specific change the researchers found is called “histone 3 lysine 27 acetylation,” abbreviated to H3K27ac. The H3K27ac change is known to be found in several different types of cancer and has attracted increasing scientific attention.
In February, Chinese researchers published a review on it, suggesting that it had “emerging potential as a therapeutic target in cancer.” The paper examined “the genetic mutation and epigenetic mechanisms by which H3K27ac might contribute to various types of cancer… [and] future directions for cancer treatment that might involve targeting H3K27ac.”’
Last fall, researchers in Poland offered a similar overview. “Histone acetylation… regulates gene expression [and] is associated with cancer initiation, development and progression,” they wrote. They specifically noted that the H3K27ac change had been found in leukemia and other cancers, including gliomas, a deadly form of brain cancer.
In their paper last week, the German researchers found the H3K27ac alterations occurred broadly across many chromosomal regions. In addition, they found the changes when they examined macrophages several months after the shots, even though macrophages typically die in one to two weeks.
“We were able to demonstrate that SARS-CoV-2 mRNA vaccination establishes extensive and persistent H3K27ac at promoters
[a specific region on the chromosome that encourages DNA transcription]
of short-lived macrophages,” they wrote in the paper, which was titled “Persistent epigenetic memory of SARS-CoV-2 mRNA vaccination in monocyte-derived macrophages.”
That fact suggests that similar changes may be occurring in longer-lived “monocytes,” which produce macrophages, the researchers wrote.

The FDA announced today it was banning the use of red 3 dye in foods in America, telling thousands of manufacturers to strip it from their products.
Food and drink makers have until January 2027 to reformulate their recipes or be forced out of the market.
The FDA agency said it was taking the action as a ‘matter of law’ because some studies have found that the dye caused cancer in lab rats.
‘The FDA is taking action that will remove the authorization for the use of… Red No. 3 in food and ingested drugs,’ said Jim Jones, the FDA’s deputy commissioner for human foods.
The dye has been used for decades to give candy, soda, and other foods and vibrant, cherry-red hue. It was banned from cosmetics by the FDA about three decades ago.
There is no indication so far that food manufacturers will challenge the new rule, and they will have sufficient time to adjust their products to meet the new standards.
There is some concern that manufacturers may opt to use red 40, which, along with red 3, has been associated with various health concerns.

“HPV is sexually transmitted. For oropharyngeal cancer, the main risk factor is the number of lifetime sexual partners, especially oral sex,” Dr. Hisham Mehanna, a professor at the University of Birmingham in the UK, wrote Monday on the Conversation research site.
“Those with six or more lifetime oral sex partners are 8.5 times more likely to develop oropharyngeal cancer than those who do not practice oral sex,” Mehanna added.

A study published in September indicated that repeated inoculation with mRNA Covid vaccinations reduces the functionality of the immune systems of old people. Infowars previously reported on a different study that indicated a similar phenomenon in children.
“In conclusion, these findings show that, like younger individuals, older adults produce antibodies with reduced functional capacity upon repeated COVID-19 mRNA vaccination,” the study said in the ‘Conclusions’ section.
The specific mechanism of immune system reduction is increased levels of IgG4 (subclasses of immunoglobulin which are proteins in the immune system that act as antibodies but can result in a reduction of immune system function).
“…we have shown that older adults, like younger individuals, are inclined to develop IgG4 responses upon repeated COVID-19 mRNA vaccination and that increased IgG4 levels associate with a relative reduction in Fc-mediated effector functionality,” the study said in the ‘Conclusions’ section.

People born in or after 1965 are 17% more likely to be experiencing accelerated aging compared to seniors born between 1950 and 1954, researchers found.
That faster aging is associated with a higher risk of certain cancers among adults younger than 55, also known as early-onset cancers, results show.

For this study, researchers analyzed blood data for nearly 149,000 people participating in the U.K. Biobank project.
The team used a set of nine biomarkers found in blood to calculate each person’s biological age, or what age a person appears to be based on the condition of their body.
They then contrasted that to the person’s actual age based on their birth date, as well as any cancers that had occurred among them.
Top doctors are warning of an “epidemic” of cancers normally seen in older people that are now affecting younger, fit, healthy people and are unsure of the cause.

And, again, the ad doesn’t mention any specific products, except penicillin, which is not exactly a big Pfizer product these days. The reference to Katalin Kariko flicks at the Covid jabs. But I would guess only 5 to 10 percent of Americans have any idea who she is. Including her is a way to mention the mRNAs without talking about them.
Viewers know about turbo cancer, auto-immunity, the suppression of Ivermectin as the cure to Covid-19 and the damage the jab and mRNA causes. Those in the know hammered Pfizer for a public image commercial. Go read and understand that they aren’t fooling anyone except those wanting to be fooled.

First, let me say that I appreciate his service to our country and for being a stand up guy. I always feel a loss of a soldier or one who served honorably.
Semantics are a funny thing though. You can say something and have it mean something else. The first reports of his death were that he died of Covid complications and was fully vaccinated. I’m sure that’s what Peppermint Patty (Jenn Psaki) was trying to sell the lapdog Whitehouse press corps, a group that does what they are told.
THE FACTS OF MULTIPLE MYELOMA
The real truth is that he had Multiple Myeloma (cancer of the blood), Parkinson’s disease and prostate cancer. He was 84. The typical “Covid death” is someone of 82 years old with 2 or more co-morbidities (look it up, don’t believe me). He was undergoing chemo treatments which along with the Myeloma weaken your immune system.
There isn’t much being said about Parkinson’s, but I’m not aware of a cure for that either.
The average American male lives to about 77 years old, less for black men. He outlived that and fought a long fight against the cancer.
I also ask what good the VAX did as he died “with Covid”.
I have 2 friends battling Multiple Myeloma. They are begging for a cure and have received “new blood” giving them another 5 years to live at the present.
It is a death sentence with no known cure, only treatments that prolong your time on earth. I have friends that are famous doctors who specialize in treating this disease and the outcome is eventual. They tell me frequently that they had a bad day because they had to send someone home to die as there is no treatment left for them.
So spin it any way you want, but the cause of death was not a Covid death. While it’s true that he had complications, so do others who don’t have co-morbidities and are less than 82 yet survive. Most (99.5% currently) who contract it live. It’s neck and neck between Covid deaths and those killed by the vax, if anyone would report the correct numbers.
