Italy Seeks Reversal of EU’s 2035 Combustion Engine Ban

Bloomberg) — Italian officials said the European Union’s plan to ban sales of new internal combustion engines from 2035 should be reviewed.
“The ban must be changed,” Energy Minister Gilberto Pichetto Fratin said on the sidelines of the Ambrosetti Forum in Cernobbio, on the shores of Italy’s Lake Como, on Saturday.
Pichetto Fratin called the decision by the EU “absurd,” and dictated by an “ideological vision” along with a state-controlled approach to policy-making within the bloc. The plan needs changing in order to reflect different market realities amid the European auto industry’s slowdown, he added.
Industry Minister Adolfo Urso also backed a change, urging the incoming European Commission to anticipate the review of the plan to early 2025, from 2026. “In an uncertain landscape which is affecting German automotive industry, clarity is needed to not let the European industry collapse,” Urso said in Cernobbio.

On September 3, 2024 the non-profit first amendment legal firm America First Legal (AFL) filed a complaint to the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) against the Williams-Sonoma corporation for its extensive DEI racial hiring policies that specifically favor some skin colors over others.
Williams-Sonoma, a kitchenware and home furnishings retailer with brands including Pottery Barn, Pottery Barn Kids, Pottery Barn Teen, West Elm, Williams Sonoma Home, Rejuvenation, Mark and Graham, and GreenRow, proudly represents to the public and its shareholders and investors that race, sex, and national origin are motivating factors in its hiring, employment, and contracting practices.
As outlined in Williams-Sonoma’s 2024 Annual Report, their Equity Action Plan and Equity Action Committee led to “approximately 68.1% of our total workforce identified as female and approximately 41.1% identified as an ethnic minority group.” The company boasts higher management, comprising “56.6% of Vice Presidents and above identified as female.”
Williams-Sonoma’s Equity Action Committee also appears to reward executives for making race, color, sex, or national origin a motivating factor in hiring and other employee practices. The Equity Action Plan tracked and set goals for the diversity of the company, board members, and board nominees. It then designed the “Associate Equity Network Groups” that benefit some workers and disfavor others, specifically white, male, and religious Americans.
In other words, this company demands race and sex be considered as a qualification for a job, regardless of the person’s skills, experience, or talent, and it also demands that whites and men be put on the back of the bus, considered last in all hiring decisions, merely because they are either white or male.

An apparent pitch deck from one of Facebook‘s alleged marketing partner appears to detail how the firm eavesdrops on users’ conversations to create targeted ads.
In a slideshow, Cox Media Group (CMG) claims that its ‘Active-Listening’ software uses AI to collect and analyze ‘real-time intent data’ by listening to what you say through your phone, laptop or home assistant microphone.
‘Advertisers can pair this voice-data with behavioral data to target in-market consumers,’ the deck states.
The pitch deck goes on to tout Facebook, Google and Amazon as clients of CMG, suggesting they could be using its Active-Listening service to target users.

This might be a true statement, but coming from the media, Kamala’s policy, or lack thereof, ought to be examined as a matter of public interest. Which is to say that the question they should be asking is not whether Kamala can win an election without talking about policy but whether she should.
Kamala Harris still doesn’t have a single policy position listed on her website. Even Mark Penn, a former top adviser to Hillary Clinton, is appalled:

When reading the biography of Ben Franklin, he inspired me in a different direction. It would be to not use a word that could be judged as egotistical or one that tried to convince someone of your position. Rather, he supposed was if you could inform or educate someone to come to a more enlightened position rather than beat them over the head (which I do here) with your beliefs, you are a better man.

The top five worst universities for free speech also all happen to be mostly Ivy League institutions, according to a major new student survey released today by the Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression.
Harvard, Columbia, New York University, the University of Pennsylvania and Barnard College made up the bottom five schools, respectively.
Conversely, the top rated school was the University of Virginia. Last year’s highest, Michigan Technological University, came in second best for free speech. In third place was Florida State University, and fourth and fifth were Eastern Kentucky University and Georgia Tech.
The Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression released its annual College Free Speech Rankings for 2024 on Thursday. The free speech climate of 257 of America’s universities was assessed by 58,807 students who responded to a College Pulse online survey from Jan. 25 through June 17.

Even though I’m an introvert, I can “play the extrovert” when needed. I can put on the perfect smile, don my best dress, and be the perfect lady on your arm. I’ll be charming, witty, and entertaining. I can host a family feast during the holidays or attend that lavish event you’ve been looking forward to all year……
2. Alone time is how introverts recharge.
Speaking of parties, can an introvert go out and party? Sure! But we will probably be the first ones to leave and go home. The crowd of people and the noise — while energizing to extroverts — is utterly exhausting to us introverts.
After The Event is when an introvert needs their alone time the most. I want nothing more than to go home, possibly take a long bubble bath, and spend a day in my pajamas. Even though we love spending time alone, you have to understand that introverts still want to be included. We want to be asked. It seems to me that we are in a very similar place with the lockdowns. Then, too, we saw herd instinct at its worst: people joining in one after another without stopping to think. It is an interesting counterfactual to ask what would have happened if the first sign of the pandemic had not been in autocratic China but in a country where lockdowns, the confinement of the entire population, would have been unthinkable — let us say if it had started in the Netherlands or Canada or somewhere. It started in China; then there was the attempt by the Italian Government to stop people moving from north to south; and then, suddenly, lockdowns, which had never been foreseen in any previous planning document, were considered a standard tool of public policy overnight. We were panicked into a response that no one had foreseen prior to those days — by shrieking broadcasters such as Piers Morgan, night after night, saying, “Why aren’t we copying these other countries?”, and all the signs up saying, “Covidiots go home” — and, rather like the people of Columbus, Ohio, we did not stop to think, and we still do not want to go back and ask whether it was justified or proportionate.

Volvo has announced it will be getting rid of its plan to sell only fully electric cars by 2030.
The auto manufacturer announced on Wednesday, that it is now aiming for 90-100% of its global sales to be either pure electric or plug-in hybrid at that point.
The Swedish company said this will “allow for a limited number of mild hybrid models to be sold, if needed.”
The latest move by Volvo comes after Mercedes-Benz and Volkswagen have both previously announced a shift in their respective EV strategies.
“An electric car provides a superior driving experience and increases possibilities for using advanced technologies that improve the overall customer experience,” Jim Rowan, CEO of Volvo Cars, said on Wednesday in the written statement.
“However, it is clear that the transition to electrification will not be linear, and customers and markets are moving at different speeds of adoption,” he continued.
EV’s are just another version of Woke until they make an engine as good as a diesel. Also, almost nobody wants one.

According to the NYPD, out of all arrests for crimes like assault, robbery and domestic violence, 75% of them are from illegal immigrants.
That number is above 60% in Queens.
And the biggest contributing factor, aside from the massive influx of illegals into the city, is the fact that New York is a sanctuary city.

New York Being Run By CCP
A former top aide to New York’s Democratic Governor Kathy Hochul has been arrested Tuesday on federal criminal charges in a political bombshell. She is accused of acting as an undisclosed agent of China and the Chinese Communist Party. She’s been identified as Linda Sun, who had previously served as Hochul’s deputy chief for a year, following stints in other positions at the state government level.
The significant list of allegations includes that she worked to advance CCP interests in sate government, and in return received huge sums of money and oversaw the facilitation of millions of dollars in transactions connected to Chinese government business interests.
Perhaps most alarming is that she’s alleged to have on multiple occasions blocked the ability of representatives of the Taiwanese government from meetings with NY government officials. Her husband, Chris Hu, has also been arrested, and implicated in the conspiracy.
A list of the key charges against her include:
- violating and conspiring to violate the Foreign Agents Registration Act
- visa fraud
- alien smuggling
- money laundering conspiracy

- conspiracy to commit bank fraud
- misuse of means of identification
The governor’s office has immediately tried to distance Hochul from Sun, even though it looks like her deputy chief of staff was highly influential:
Hochul’s press secretary Avi Small, in a statement to WNBC News 4 in New York City, said, “This individual was hired by the Executive Chamber more than a decade ago.”
“We terminated her employment in March 2023 after discovering evidence of misconduct, immediately reported her actions to law enforcement and have assisted law enforcement throughout this process,” Small said.

Joey Chestnut Sets World Record by Downing 83 Hot Dogs – Unfinished Beef
Not only that, Kobayashi downed a personal best of 66 in this contest. Either would have won Coney Island this year by a mile.
Joey Chestnut defeated longtime rival Takeru Kobayashi in a hot dog eating contest on Monday afternoon in Las Vegas, chowing down a world record 83 hot dogs in 10 minutes.
Chestnut broke his own record of 76 hot dogs in 2022. Kobayashi finished with 66 hot dogs, his personal record.
“This is amazing,” Chestnut said afterward. “I’ve been trying to hit 80 hot dogs for years. Without Kobayashi, I was never able to do it. He drives me. We weren’t always nice to each other, but I love the way we push each other to be our best.”
It was the first meeting between the hot dog eating champions in 15 years.

Two: The State Department released a document showing that Hunter Biden sought U.S. government help for Burisma Holdings, a Ukrainian company.
The leak raises additional questions about why Hunter did not register as a foreign agent for his work with Burisma Holdings, the Ukrainian energy company that paid Hunter $83,000 per month — or $1 million per year — just weeks after his father was announced as the “point person” on U.S. foreign policy with Ukraine. Hunter had no experience in energy or Ukraine before becoming a board member of the company and asking the U.S. government for help.

A Real Pain In The Ass – Just Ask The Doctor
A Florida doctor, Ishwari Prasad, was placed on probation and fined $7,500 after two colonoscopy procedures where he failed to adhere to the standard medical protocols, according to the Florida Board of Medicine. The incidents occurred in June 2023 at a Tampa surgery center.
During one procedure, Prasad, who is hearing-impaired, did not wear his hearing aids, supposedly preventing him from hearing the patient’s screams that he was not fully sedated, according to officials. Additionally, Prasad allegedly delegated a portion of the procedure to a surgical tech who was not a licensed doctor, further compounding the issues during the surgeries.
Prasad has been restricted from performing gastroenterology procedures following a settlement where he neither admitted nor denied the allegations of medical malpractice. He has been practicing medicine since the early 1980s, with a license issued in Florida in 1990.

I heard from a scientist in Denmark that the death stats were flat until the shots rolled out.
She also said that Denmark stopped reporting daily deaths and has switched to reporting deaths quarterly. Does having less information lead to better health outcomes? Or are they hiding something? X
Similarly, in Norway, they stopped reporting COVID stats due to budget cuts; it had absolutely nothing to do with the numbers getting worse and worse (14X more COVID, 3X more hospitalisations, 3X as much death).
Here are the numbers. You decide. I think the numbers are pretty incriminating.

Excess deaths are relative to start of the period and excess is measured relative to a 2017-2019 baseline.
If what they are doing is working, cumulative excess deaths should turn around and fall back to zero. But this just doesn’t happen.
Deaths monotonically increase. This means that what they did either had no effect or made things worse.
How they can possibly claim success with numbers like these is a mystery to me.
The deaths started getting worse after the COVID shots rolled out. If it wasn’t the COVID shots, what is fueling the monotonic rise in excess deaths?
They lined up like Sheep to get jabbed and it started killing people. It will continue to kill them for years. I can’t believe they fell for this as an entire country. My wife has relatives there and they thought I was crazy for not getting jabbed. Who’s laughing now?

Ford Becomes The Latest Company To Stop DEI and Woke
Ford Motor Co. has joined the ranks of companies that have pulled back on diversity, equity and inclusion policies while facing pressure from conservative groups.
CEO Jim Farley sent a memo to all employees early Wednesday outlining the changes, including a decision to stop taking part in external culture surveys and an annual survey by the Human Rights Campaign that measures workplace inclusion for LGBTQ+ employees.
“We will continue to put our effort and resources into taking care of our customers, our team, and our communities versus publicly commenting on the many polarizing issues of the day,” the memo said. “There will of course be times when we will speak out on core issues if we believe our voice can make a positive difference.”
Farley wrote that Ford is mindful that employees and customers have a wide range of beliefs “and the external and legal environment related to political and social issues continues to evolve.” The company, he wrote, has been looking at its policies during the past year.
I don’t know why these companies thought it was a good idea to go woke and against their customer base, but dollars matter, and dumping this nonsense is the best business decision.
Maybe their quality will come back now that meritocracy is back in charge.

There’s something heartwarming about two fellas fishing together for black crappie, breaking a state record, and then doing it again not 2 hours later. That’s exactly what Lindell Marker and Dwight Priestley did.
On August 8 at 7:30 a.m., Marker caught a 17.36-inch black crappie at Woodrum Lake, breaking Craig Webb’s 17.32-inch state record. Marker’s fish tied the existing weight of 2.85 pounds.
Just 75 minutes later, Priestly landed a 17.76-inch, 3.15-pound black crappie, breaking the very newly set state record. Both of the fish were caught using live minnows, and both records were confirmed and certified by WVDNR Fisheries Biologist Cory Hartman.

The fall of DEI accelerates
Fight! Fight! Fight! In the past two months it has become very clear that if Americans are willing to stand up to the left and its Marxist bigoted agenda, Americans will win.
Since late June, five different university systems have shut down their Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion offices. Each is listed below, in chronological order:
- U. Wyoming’s vice president of DEI announces departure as university shutters DEI office
- University of Alabama system campuses shut down DEI offices to comply with new law
- University of North Carolina-Wilmington shuts down DEI office
- University of Nebraska-Lincoln to close Office of Diversity and Inclusion as part of reorganization
- University of Kentucky closes DEI office
And this list does not include the University of Florida, which in March shut down its own DEI office because the state legislature not only banned such offices, it cut the budgets of them.
Though it is true these states are all solidly conservative with legislatures largely controlled by Republicans, this fact on its face proves that voting can make a difference, with Florida the biggest proof. Unlike the other states, Florida had for decades been a swing state between the Democrats and Republicans. Voters however changed that in the past decade, so that today the state legisilature is solidly Republican. The result has been a definitive policy shift acting to eliminate these racist Marxist programs from state-financed universities.
There is no reason similar changes cannot be forced in other battleground states. Nor should we consider it impossible in the coastal states (California, Oregon, Washington, New York, Massachusetts, etc) where Democrats maintain full control. DEI concepts are inherently racist and divisive, and serve only to encourage anger, resentment, and hate across all ethnic groups. Ordinary voters recognize this routinely, when they make the effort to look.
Nor are things changing solely in the unversities because of the willingness of voters to force change. The boycott of Bud Light because of its endorsement of the queer agenda last year is having profound impact on corporate culture. In just the last few months a number of major companies have announced the elimination of their own DEI departments and programs, also listed below in chronological order:
- Tractor Supply slashes its DEI and climate goals after a right-wing pressure campaign
- John Deere backs away from diversity and inclusion efforts after a conservative backlash
- Harley-Davidson is dropping diversity initiatives after right-wing anti-DEI campaign
- Jack Daniel’s parent Brown-Forman ends DEI policy
Not much has been this blatant, discriminatory, and biased, nor caused as much corporate loss of money and customer goodwill.
It proves that unity, not diversity is our real strength.

We are often told that wind and solar, if not cheaper, are at least cost competitive with fossil fuels. Dead wrong! Wind or solar costs around five times more per megawatt hour compared to, for example, natural gas.
We are told that wind and solar will save us from a climate catastrophe. If there is a looming climate catastrophe, the only thing that will save us is nuclear power. Wind and solar are incredibly expensive methods of reducing CO2 emissions. The more wind and solar you build, the cost of removing CO2 increases disproportionately.
The U.S. has wasted $1.5 trillion on wind and solar and for that money only a little more than 10% of our electricity comes from wind and solar.
Fossil fuels are not dirty. Modern natural gas or coal plants are environmentally pristine. CO2 is not a pollutant, but an aerial plant food that is greening the Earth. CO2 makes plants grow faster with less water.
Wind or solar electricity is not worth what it costs to create it. It is worth what someone is willing to pay for it. That is a generally accepted economic principle.
If the government requires a utility to purchase some amount of electricity at some price, that is not a free market. That is central planning. Central planning has a role, but it rarely works as well as the voluntary exchange of goods and services. Central planning creates unexpected twists and turns and often results in low productivity.

I was having a conversation with my buddy George who claims he was perceptive. He was giving me the litany of reasons girls don’t like Trump, while standing firmly behind voting for him.
I did get a lecture as to how good JD Vance was because he was young and didn’t put out mean tweets.
I asked him if he’d investigated Tampon Tim Walz. He’d never heard of him. I’m wondering myself how can you be perceptive if you don’t know 1/4th of the Presidential election lineup.
This caused me to wonder about what Donald Rumsfeld said.
I was watching that press conference and it struck me how true this really was. Most people don’t know much outside of their little world and never see the big picture.
That took me to this well-known joke:
A guy was seated next to a 10-year-old girl on an airplane. Being bored, he turned to the girl and said, “Let’s talk. I’ve heard that flights go quicker if you strike up a conversation with your fellow passenger.”

I caught a lot of shit from my cousin about Trump’s mean tweets and being an Alpha male, you know the kind that girls let them do stuff to that they wouldn’t a less rich or powerful type. Instead, she went out of her way to promote the disaster that was our current president and how our nation was wrecked by incompetence. She failed to understand the concept of hypergamy. She also ignored that girls sleep with who they want, (most) guys sleep with who they can, except alpha males.
I don’t have a moral to the story other than look at yourself. You probably don’t know as much as you think. You know what you’ve heard and your opinions are usually reflections of other people you’ve heard. That means we all need to get better educated as to the candidates.
Critical thinking is a lost art. They don’t teach it in schools anymore (other than private schools). We sure could use more of that in this election cycle to bring some common sense to how and who we should have run our nation. History for example is a great teacher. We have a lot of it telling us what is the right thing instead of the politically correct thing.
I think our lives would be a lot less difficult if we all thought through things a bit more than what social media and the MSM tells us to think. It’s why I dumped Fakebook and Twitter years ago.
So after lampooning those who claim to be perceptive, I’m not going to do it. I am a person who sees patterns. What I see is a bunch of sheep being told what to think instead of thinking for themselves

He and his family got rich, not by serving anyone, but by grifting on his various political offices. And so now we have Kamala Harris, who was chosen as V.P. simply because she possesses ovaries and dark pigmentation. And for the one millionth time, America is a republic — if we can keep it — not a democracy.
Lie #2: Man-made climate change will make the Earth unlivable for humans in (pick one) 5, 10, 39, or 5,000 years.
Ha, ha! If you think our Creator would allow us, His/Her/Zey’s most ambitious, creative, and intelligent organism, to destroy our beautiful terrarium, then you’re either a fool or an atheist, possibly both. Our most brilliant minds can’t predict tomorrow’s weather with precision, our weather records extend a mere blip into the nearly five billion years of the planet’s estimated existence, and the only reason the scam’s called “climate change” is because leftists gave up on “global warming” when the Earth inconsiderately stopped warming.
Lie #3: Democrats love black people.
Where to start with this one? The president who ended slavery in America was a Republican. It was the Democrat party who championed Jim Crow laws. It’s Democrats who’ve historically come up with all kinds of handouts and special programs for blacks, not because they love them, but because they think African-Americans simply can’t cut it on a level playing field. Nope, sorry, uniformity is our strength. A team that’s chosen based on merit alone, and who plays according to one set of values and with a single goal in mind, always wins. But don’t take my word for it; ask any recent champions of the almost three-quarters African-American NBA. If diversity is strength, then the NBA is arguably one of the weakest b-ball leagues on the planet.

My first job was relatively free of them, but then the list started.
At ICS, there was Gilbert/Carl Fiorentino – they went to jail.
The next job at Core was these two:
Robert Adamson and Sondra Arkin. Robert tried to screw people over out of sheer spite and Sondra was a loser who was a vindictive feminist. There were a lot of others like the head of software development, but he was more of a wiener.
I moved to IBM and there were plenty of people like:
Laura Knapp, Sandy Carter, John Callies, Amy Loomis, Ed Barbini, and a lot of New Yorkers, but the top of the list when I hear the song is:
Ray Gorman.
I always go to him as he was tied with Amy as my worst manager. No one continuously lied to me as much as Ray from day one. He also always tried to screw me but never could. He was mad that I made more money than him and beat the system continuously when he couldn’t. He thought I didn’t know what he was doing, but everyone told me what he was up to behind my back (not just to me, he fired a guy who had taken leave to serve in Afghanistan) so I was always a step ahead. It was funny that he could never get away with screwing me because everyone else thought he was an asshole also.
He’s really lucky that I didn’t actually kick his ass. I saw him in Vegas at a computer show after he got transferred to Lenovo and he tried to act like nothing happened. He thought we were friends after backstabbing me. It was all I could do to not deck him. I did the right thing and walked away, but not next time, he’s got an ass whooping coming . I dislike sniveling pricks and that’s why I think of Ray when the song plays.

3. describe the purported “genome” of any alleged “monkeypox virus” being found intact in the bodily fluid/tissue/excrement of a so-called “host” (as opposed to fabricated in silico, aka a computer model), or
4. scientifically demonstrate contagion of the illness/symptoms that are allegedly caused by purported “monkeypox viruses.”

After I visited Japan, I’ve had a bidet to clean my ass. No more shit-stained undies or worrying that you might smell like shit if there was a chance of some oral satisfaction.

Ah, toilet paper. That innocent little roll sitting quietly in your bathroom, innocuous, and oh-so-essential—or is it? If you ask me, my dear wicked ones, we might be staring at the greatest con in the history of mankind. Yes, I said it. Let’s dish.
Think about it. We’re paying good money for a product that we literally flush down the toilet. Every. Single. Day. We’re tossing away cash, wiping it on our behinds, and sending it to the sewage system like it’s nothing. Is this not the ultimate racket? The Charmin bears are probably lounging in their gold-plated forest homes, laughing at us all.
Let’s dive into the origins, shall we? Toilet paper is a relatively modern invention, but somehow, humanity has survived for centuries without it. A few leaves, a splash of water, a bit of cloth—crude but effective. Fast forward to today, and we’ve been brainwashed to believe that without this fluffy, overpriced tissue, civilization as we know it would collapse. Really? The ancients managed, and last I checked, they built the pyramids.
And don’t even get me started on the marketing. Those cute little puppies and bears in the commercials, selling us the dream of the softest, plushest experience for our derrières—oh please. It’s a game, my friends—a sly, cunning game. The manufacturers have you convinced that more plies equal a better life. But does your rear end really know the difference between two-ply and four-ply? I doubt it.
Of course, I’m not suggesting we all start using leaves again—after all, we’ve evolved past that (haven’t we?). But isn’t it time to question the necessity of this everyday item that’s silently draining our bank accounts and our forests? They’ve been America haters for a long time anyway. I’ve never liked their stuff and change the channel when they come on. That’s rare since the good stations don’t play their shitty music much anyway. I can see why the DNC would want them though.
The Dixie Chicks were roasted on social media over their mangled performance of the Star Spangled Banner at the Democratic National Convention, Thursday.
Natalie Maines and sisters Martie Maguire and Emily Strayer took the stage inside the United Center in Chicago and delivered a choppy a cappella version of the national anthem most fans agreed they could have done without. They began their performance in harmony as they sang similar keys, but just a few seconds later, everything fell apart. They hit different notes for the rest of the anthem, and the internet immediately erupted with criticism.

Suppressing The Truth: The Western World Has Succumbed to Tyranny
We can add Richard Medhurst to Tulsi Gabbard, Scott Ritter, Amb. Craig Murray, Julian Assange, and many others are harassed, arrested, and imprisoned by police state authorities in the US, UK, EU, and Canada for practicing the disappearing profession of journalism. When Richard Medhurst can be arrested in a London airport for “expressing an opinion or belief that is supportive of a proscribed organization,” we know freedom is dead and journalism no longer exists. All that Western journalists are permitted to do today is to support the official lies in the official narratives that are used to construct the false reality in which we live.
We no longer have the BBC, the New York Times, the London Times, ABC, NBC, CBS to hold government accountable. What we have are propaganda ministries that support official narratives. The job of the Western media is to lie to the people in behalf of the establishment that rules them.
As the growing intimidation of alternative media makes clear, the ability to express truth is rapidly disappearing in the Western world. Soon we will be locked into The Matrix, only there will be no superhuman opposition.
It has been years since we could believe one word that we hear from the New York Times, Washington Post, NPR, CNN, Fox News, ABC, CBS, NBC, the London Times, Telegraph, The Guardian, or the main European media sources.
The notion that the West is free is a joke. When there is no free expression there is only tyranny. And that is what the Western world is. A tyranny.
The reason the Western governments have no difficulty supporting the Nazi governments in Ukraine and Israel is that they are Nazis themselves.

This is the third legal action against IBM for race discrimination — the second from AFL, plus one from @AGAndrewBailey.

/2 Our client began working for IBM in October 2016 as a Senior Managing Consultant supporting existing clients on long-term projects. He was a model employee and consistently received high scores on IBM’s primary employee performance metric, the “Net Promotor Score,” which is calculated directly from client feedback and overall satisfaction.
/3 While at IBM, our client received strong performance reviews and was publicly recognized on multiple occasions in his division’s monthly all-hands meetings for his outstanding performance, with management quoting his feedback from clients and applauding his work.
By all accounts, our client was a high-performing employee at IBM.
/4 In July 2023, without notice or warning, IBM placed our client on a Performance Improvement Plan (PIP), citing reasons completely outside of his job description, work history, and control. Even worse, the PIP was generalized, vague, and lacked any concrete measures or metrics for success.
/5 Despite this, our client made a good-faith effort to follow the terms of the PIP and keep his job at IBM. He requested resources from IBM to help him secure a prospective client, which went largely unanswered.
In October 2023, IBM terminated his employment.
/6 At the time that our client was fired, IBM’s corporate policies incentivized executives to make decisions about employees based on their race and sex. These incentives, which included executive bonuses, were directly tied to IBM’s race and sex quotas for employees, which are illegal under federal law.

/8 By instituting bonus incentives for hiring and promoting quotas tied to race and sex, IBM established discriminatory employment policies and motivated supervisors to reduce the number of employees outside of “preferred” racial and sex-based categories.

Why You Age Rapidly Between 44 and 60
For many, middle age is associated with midlife crises and internal tumult. According to new research, it is also when the human body undergoes two dramatic bouts of rapid physical transformation on a molecular level.
In a new study, scientists at Stanford University tracked age-related changes in over 135,000 types of molecules and microbes, sampled from over 100 adults. They discovered that shifts in their abundance — either increasing or decreasing in number — did not occur gradually over time, but clustered around two ages.
“Obviously you change throughout your entire life. But there are two major periods when there are lots of changes: One is when people hit their mid-40s, and one is they hit their 60s,” said Michael Snyder, a geneticist at Stanford University who co-wrote the study, in a phone interview. On average, the changes clustered around the ages of 44 and 60.
