My wife’s relatives live there and I hear the stories directly from them about waiting six weeks for crummy care. Dairy farmers in Denmark have to pay the world’s first carbon tax on their livestock, all in the name of a climate crisis that does not exist.
The country’s coalition government agreed this week to introduce the world’s first carbon emissions tax on agriculture. It will mean new levies on livestock starting in 2030.
Denmark is a major dairy and pork exporter, and agriculture is the country’s biggest source of emissions. The coalition agreement — which also entails investing 40 billion krone ($3.7 billion) in measures such as reforestation and establishing wetlands — is aimed at helping the country meet its climate goals.
“With today’s agreement, we are investing billions in the biggest transformation of the Danish landscape in recent times,” Foreign Minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen said in a statement Tuesday. “At the same time, we will be the first country in the world with a (carbon) tax on agriculture.”
Estimated cost per cow: 672 kroner ($96) annually, based on average emissions of 5.6 tons of CO2 equivalent per cow.
Implementation date: 2030
Initial tax rate: 300 kroner ($43) per ton of CO2 equivalent
Tax rate by 2035: 750 kroner ($108) per ton of CO2 equivalent
Effective tax after 60% tax break: 120 kroner ($17) per ton in 2030, rising to 300 kroner ($43) by 2035
Dairy is one of their country’s largest industries and they are going to help make it more expensive, thus killing the golden goose.

Earlier this month Joe Scarborough asked Doug Emhoff about the ‘tabloid’ stories alleging he beat his ex-girlfriend and cheated on his ex-wife with the nanny.

Professors will overwhelmingly vote for Vice President Kamala Harris in the coming weeks, according to a new survey.
Inside Higher Ed surveyed more than 1,000 professors, mostly “tenured or tenure track,” and found significant support for the Democratic presidential ticket.
“Seventy-eight percent support Kamala Harris and running mate Tim Walz, while only 8 percent of the respondents back Donald Trump and JD Vance, according to the survey, which has a 2.9 percent margin of error,” the publication reported.
“But while their personal support for Democrats was overwhelming, almost no respondents said they plan to tell students which party or candidate to vote for,” Inside Higher Ed reported.
Most respondents said they keep their personal political beliefs out of the classroom. Only four percent said they would tell students who to vote for, but 30 percent plan to “discuss the election” in class.
A major peer-reviewed study has revealed that people who received Covid mRNA “vaccines” have significantly reduced their life expectancy.

When those numbers are broken down, the fact is that men work longer hours, they work more difficult jobs, more skilled jobs, they take less vacation time and they don’t have babies so they don’t need paternity leave. All of these factors and more add up to a higher average salary for men vs women.
It has everything to do with women’s choices and nothing to do with some nefarious patriarchal conspiracy to hold them back from success.
Because the overall gender pay gap argument has been destroyed and is no longer taken seriously, feminists then tried to search for specific examples of pay disparity in gender segregated professions. Professional sports is one of the few venues in which feminists could present a male vs female one-to-one comparison and say there is a distinct lack of fairness. Except, that argument assumes that male athletes and female athletes perform at the same level. The fact is, they do not.
Women’s game performance and abilities are far behind those of their professional male counterparts. They are two separate universes in terms of entertainment. This is an issue which no one in the mainstream wants to address – The women’s games are mostly terrible to watch.

The PTA president at an elementary school in Queens, New York has allegedly stolen at least $40,000 intended for kid’s programs and used it for vet bills, Amazon purchases and Uber Eats.
According to the New York Post, on September 27th, Athena Gonzales resigned following accusations by other PTA members that she was stealing, the interim president announced at a meeting on October 7th.
The PTA members were first told during an emergency meeting after the group’s secretary discovered the missing money amid fraudulent bank activity.
A copy of a $10,000 check made out to cash was placed on the table, but no one admitted to writing it, according to sources.
The PTA announced at its October meeting that another check had been allegedly written out to Gonzalez.
Sources stated that members worked together to follow the paper trail and allegedly discovered Gonzalez spent the majority of the money over the summer, charging it to the PTA credit card.
PTA members traced the charges back to Gonzalez’ vet, and said she also has been posting on social media about recent vacations and a new car.

I’m pretty sure that reader is gone now, but it’s not going to stop me from posting sarcasm and stuff that’s funny if you stop being stuffy. I’ve chased off lots of readers, but I still post stuff I think is funny and stuff I’ve said. In this case, it was probably in middle school.
The scientific method is a wonderfully useful tool for understanding our universe. Its socio-benefits are self-apparent. I’m certainly not anti-science; if anything, I’m a big fan. My life is better because of it.
But I’m also aware of its limitations.
For starters, science is not synonymous with truth — and the scientific method is an extremely limited tool. Yes, we’ve used it with great success to understand our universe, but its utility is not universal.
Woe to the man who only understands the universe via the scientific method. You’d miss the most important things in life!
In its purest, axiomatic sense, the scientific method (i.e. attaching a hypothesis to an observation, developing a replicable test, and recording the results) is self-correcting, because future experiments should address any incongruities. As the quality and frequency of experiments improve, better data should arise.
At least that’s the theory.
But in actuality, the problem with “trusting the science” is threefold:
Scientists are just people, and people are biased. The scientific community is not immune to bias, political pressures, the lure of career advancements, or the impact of preconceived agendas.
The scientific method is only as good as the quality of its experiments, and far too many things (climate change, evolution, biological studies, health) are challenging to directly experiment. For example, it would be extraordinarily useful to know what our current temperature would be without any manmade greenhouse emissions whatsoever. (Hey, maybe the Global Warming alarmists are 100% right.) But we don’t know because it’s not something we can directly test. Instead, we’re left with cherry-picking clusters of facts and using them to build various arguments. And that leads to…
Our current usage of “science” has led to a ridiculously large number of false positives. That’s because it’s far too easy for biased scientists to generate media attention (and raise money) by publicizing a conclusion that’s centered on cherry-picked data. It happens all the time, and it’s gotten to the point that it’s practically a cliché: One week, a “scientific study” is announced that says chocolate (or whatever) is the secret to weight loss. Next week, the study is denounced. It’s practically a weekly occurrence.
Too many unethical scientists are wearing the cloak of “science” to lend the veneer of credibility to utterly unscientific conclusions. Chief among them is Scientific American magazine, which announced last month that it was endorsing Kamala Harris for president. In the magazine’s illustrious 179-year history, it has made presidential endorsements exactly twice — in 2020 and 2024 — and both times, they were anti-Trump. (Very odd, eh?)
Scientific American explained its “logic” in an article released today: “The 2024 Presidential Election Will Make or Break U.S. Climate Action.” It’s worth reading because it’s absolutely NOT a scientific piece. It’s an aggressively liberal screed on public policy. And because you can’t test planetary climate cycles via direct experimentations, the Scientific American “scientists” did the next best thing: They used a computer program that spits out whatever data it’s been designed to regurgitate.
To provide a broad look at how potential policies under Harris or Trump would shape future U.S. [greenhouse] emissions, Orvis’s team at EI used its Energy Policy Simulator, an open-source computer model. The researcher compared current policies under the Biden-Harris administration with more ambitious policies that achieve a target of net-zero carbon emissions by 2050 and with the policies laid out in Project 2025. The found that the latter scenario ‘basically stops the progress that’s been made’…
How scientific! They relied on Project 2025 — which Trump has repeatedly disavowed — as their sole basis for GOP action. And then they found a computer model that gave them the pro-Harris results they sought.

It’s silly and disingenuous. But it’s also deeply damaging to actual science because it sullies its reputation. By contorting “science” into something it’s not, liberal activists are actually engaging in a very specific form of Climate Denial: Their unabashed dishonesty, political manipulations, and brazen opportunism have created a climate where scientists can no longer be trusted.
It’s too bad. If you’re a true fan of science, this is not at all what you want. But that’s the reality today.

According to the lawsuit, obtained by TMZ, the woman says she was flattered and excited to receive an invite from a celebrity like Diddy … so she went to the photoshoot with one of her girlfriends, where she says they met Diddy and were invited to an after-party at a Manhattan area Marriott hotel.
The woman says she and her friend agreed to go to the party and they were taken to the hotel by a member of Diddy’s entourage … and when they got to the hotel suite and tried to mingle with guests drinking and listening to music, they were instead grabbed and taken into a separate room. She says she asked the guy who took her to the room where they were going and he responded, “You know what you are here for.”
Did you know that two life-sized replicas of the Tabernacle have already been constructed in Israel? One is in the Timna Valley near Israel’s southernmost city of Eilat, and the other one is located at the Eshel-Hashomron Hotel near the city of Ariel in Samaria. Both of these structures already contain replicas of the Ark of the Covenant. Of course, those that created both of these life-sized models of the Tabernacle insist that they are only to be used for educational purposes. But could that change at some point in the future? After the original Temple was destroyed in 586 BC, the Ark of the Covenant entirely disappeared from the history books.
There is no historical record that says that the Babylonians captured the Ark, and no Babylonian leader ever claimed that it was in Babylon. But the Ark of the Covenant was not present in the Second Temple either, and so that indicates that those that built it also did not know where it was located.
So what in the world happened to it? Personally, I have become convinced that it is still in a chamber under the city of Jerusalem where it was hidden prior to the Babylonian invasion.
While some claim to have evidence that the ark is in Ethiopia, and of course, moviegoers were treated to a fanciful version of the story in “Raiders of the Lost Ark,” in reality, the expression “lost” ark is not an accurate description for the Jewish people’s point of view – because we have always known exactly where it is. So the Ark is “Hidden,” and hidden quite well, but it is not lost.

Former President Donald Trump plans to work behind the counter and “work the fry cooker” at a McDonald’s in Pennsylvania this weekend.
Trump’s trolling of Vice President Kamala Harris is due to her having repeatedly claimed to have worked at McDonald’s in the past but has not shown any evidence of having done so.
“Kamala never had a job at McDonald’s. Her resume talks about McDonald’s, McDonald’s, McDonald’s,” Trump said at a New York press conference last month.
“Why won’t they just provide real documentation and proof?” Trump campaign spokesman Steven Cheung asked the Daily Beast. “The onus is on them. What does she have to hide?”
Trump had been talking about doing this for a few weeks, such as at a rally in Pennsylvania where he said he may “work the French fry job for about a half an hour,” and then at another rally in Nevada where he said he would for sure do it.

Google’s former chief Eric Schmidt thinks we shouldn’t let AI’s ballooning power consumption worry us, because putting AI to work on climate change issues will be our best shot at solving them.
Schmidt was speaking at a recent AI summit in Washington DC, and his comments echo those of Microsoft founder Bill Gates who expressed very similar sentiments at an event in London earlier this year.

“All of that will be swamped by the enormous needs of this new technology,” he said, adding that “we may make mistakes with respect to how it’s used, but I can assure you that we’re not going to get there through conservation.”
Schmidt further stated that he believes that “we’re not going to hit the climate goals anyway because we’re not organized to do it,” and that he would rather bet on AI solving the problems than constraining the development of the tech and still having the problems anyway.
This rather optimistic view of the Earth-saving potential of AI can perhaps be explained by the fact that Schmidt has his own investments in the technology. According to Business Insider, he is the founder of White Stork, a defense company that develops AI-powered drones.
On March 22, 1987, the barge Mobro 4000, loaded with six million pounds of garbage and towed by tugboat Break of Dawn, departed Islip, New York. The Mobro 4000 might have been adrift, but recycling proponents’ ship had come in.
Of particular concern, too, is plastic, with stories of the material polluting our oceans. But what if plastic recycling is a myth, if not a scam, that is not only wasteful but environmentally damaging?

The Biden-Harris Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) says it has temporarily suspended certain Hurricane Helene relief operations in several North Carolina communities due to perceived threats against federal aid workers. According to FEMA, federal disaster relief operations were halted in Rutherford County after the agency received reports from the National Guard that an “armed militia” was allegedly threatening relief workers.
“For the safety of our dedicated staff and the disaster survivors we are helping, FEMA has made some operational adjustments,” an agency spokesman said in astatement on Monday. They added: “Disaster Recovery Centers will continue to be open as scheduled, survivors continue to register for assistance, and we continue to help the people of North Carolina with their recovery.”

VP Kamala Harris unveiled the “Opportunity Agenda,” which proposes one million forgivable loans up to $20,000 for black entrepreneurs.

(2) Championing education, training, and mentorship programs that help Black men get good-paying jobs in high-demand industries and lead their communities, including pathways to become teachers. (3) Supporting a regulatory framework for cryptocurrency and other digital assets so Black men who invest in and own these assets are protected. (4) Launching a National Health Equity Initiative focused on Black Men that addresses sickle cell disease, diabetes, mental health, prostate cancer, and other health challenges that disproportionately impact them. (5) Legalizing recreational marijuana and creating opportunities for Black Americans to succeed in this new industry.

The mysterious world of lucid dreaming has become a little clearer after scientists achieved two-way communication between a pair of people.
It sounds like something out of sci-fi Inception, where people can steal from one another by entering other’s lucid dreams, but firm REMspace, which focuses on helping to improve both lucid dreaming and sleep, is striving to make it a reality.
As has been reported across multiple outlets, the company claims to have used a combination of specially made apparatus, including Wi-Fi, sensors and servers to deliver the breakthrough.
However, they have not revealed the exact technology used to do so. Meanwhile, the technology has not been reviewed or replicated by other scientists – it is therefore still awaiting validation.
According to multiple news outlets, the two participants were in separate homes when researchers beamed a word that had been made through a unique language.

Many are wondering why exactly it is that former First Lady Michelle Obama is not campaigning for Vice President Kamala Harris.
This comes, according to the Daily Mail, as Obama’s husband – former President Barack Obama – has hit the campaign trail for Harris, looking to stir up support for her in the final weeks leading up to the 2024 presidential election.
In contrast, the former first lady has been far less active than her husband.
As we will see, though, this does not mean that she is inactive.
Here’s what is going on:
It was Politico that first reported recently that Barack Obama has decided to do some significant campaigning for Harris.
The outlet wrote:
The former president will appear Thursday at an event in the Pittsburgh area, the start of what will be part of a swing-state “blitz” through Election Day, said a senior campaign official, granted anonymity to discuss the schedule ahead of the announcement.
This so-called “blitz” is already underway, with Obama hitting the campaign trail on Thursday. In the process, he managed to stir up some serious controversy.
Obama is scheduled to continue holding rallies in battleground states through Election Day.
A spokesman for Obama said:
President Obama believes the stakes of this election could not be more consequential and that is why he is doing everything he can to help elect Vice President Harris, Governor Walz and Democrats across the country.
Prominent black Trump booster Rob Smith has responded to the former president’s condescending screed over ‘brothas’ who are afraid to vote for Kamala Harris. In a now-viral reply, Smith tells Obama: “There is no amount of lecturing or bullying or shaming that you can do that is going to make me change that decision [to vote for Trump].

Obama’s remarks seem to reflect a growing sense of desperation— and they seem likely to backfire. It’s bad enough for him to publicly spotlight Harris’ weakness compared to his own performance, but it’s even worse that he felt the best way to remedy the situation was to publicly shame black men — to the point of saying, “you’re lucky Michelle’s not here” — and to accuse black men of sexism.
Kamala Harris is so desperate to win male voters that she actually sent Tim Walz pheasant hunting today with a film crew so he could appear all manly in front of the cameras.
Yeah, that’s going to be the thing that puts her over the top with men. Uh huh.
MSNBC implies that Tim Walz going pheasant hunting is nothing more than a desperate attempt to make up ground with male voters.

Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex and wife of the United Kingdom’s Prince Harry, has been practically writing a textbook on how to alienate the public — not to mention the in-laws — since marrying into the British royal family.
And now a new report claims that she’s wailing that the bad publicity is actually really bad bullying.
On Thursday, the celebrity-centric Vanity Fair published a piece positively reporting on a Meghan visit on Oct. 2 to the mentoring program Girls Inc. of Greater Santa Barbara, California.
“We did an activity where we talked through a bunch of scenarios, and Meghan talked about being one of the most bullied people in the world,” one of those who was part of the visit told Vanity Fair. (Emphasis added.)
“We had girls wave these little emoji signs and talk about how each one of these scenarios would have impacted them emotionally.”
To be fair, the report didn’t quote Meghan herself as saying she was “one of the most bullied people in the world.” And the New York Post is citing sources that are disputing that she did.
But anyone who’s watched the former actress over the years, and the ongoing royal drama she and Harry have created, would not be surprised at all if Meghan actually made the claim.
Unlike her sister-in-law, the Princess of Wales, Meghan has spent years making the world think the worst of her.
Since becoming a royal by marriage with her 2018 wedding to the Knuckelehead Prince, Meghan has built a reputation for treating her staff savagely.
In September, The Hollywood Reporter described how her treatment of two Buckingham Palace aides sparked an actual palace investigation in the same year she got married.
Noting that her staff had given her the nickname “Duchess Difficult,” it quoted one source, apparently a current or past employee, calling her a “dictator in high heels.”
My edits here: Kamala has a 92% staff turnover and forced people to stand up, not look at her and address her as general when she was AG in California. They had the world at their hands and treated it like garbage and below their perceived status, Assholes.
Columbia’s Student Protesters Really Have Embraced Hamas – these are the real modern day Nazi’s
I touched on this earlier this week when Columbia’s anti-Israel group, Columbia University Apartheid Divest (CUAD), held a walkout/protest on the anniversary of 10/7, but I think it probably deserves more attention.
You may remember this guy, Khymani James, one of the student organizers at Columbia who made news earlier this year when a video circulated of him saying, “Zionists, along with all white supremacists, need to not exist.” He added, “Be glad, be grateful that I’m not just going out and murdering Zionists.”
After this made news in April, James was suspended and CUAD put out a statement, apparently from James himself, apologizing for his comments.
“CUAD and the Gaza Solidarity Encampment have made clear that my words in January, prior to my involvement in CUAD, are not in line with the CUAD community guidelines. I agree with their assessment,” the apology read. “Those words do not represent CUAD. They also do not represent me.”
This week, CUAD reversed course, not only saying it regretted its earlier statement but making it plain that the group supports violence, i.e. it supports Hamas.
The pro-Palestinian group that sparked the student encampment movement at Columbia University in response to the Israel-Hamas war is becoming more hard-line in its rhetoric, openly supporting militant groups fighting Israel and rescinding an apology it made after one of its members said the school was lucky he wasn’t out killing Zionists.
“We support liberation by any means necessary, including armed resistance,” the group, Columbia University Apartheid Divest, said in its statement revoking the apology.The group marked the anniversary of the Oct. 7 attack on Israel by distributing a newspaper with a headline that used Hamas’s name for it: “One Year Since Al-Aqsa Flood, Revolution Until Victory,” it read, over a picture of Hamas fighters breaching the security fence to Israel. And the group posted an essay calling the attack a “moral, military and political victory” and quoting Ismail Haniyeh, the assassinated former political leader of Hamas.
Hamas’ goal is to kill Jews, civilian or otherwise, and drive them from the land. This is what “from the river to the sea” has always meant. Now the group which ran the Columbia protests and inspired similar protests around the country is flat out saying they support the same thing.
A self-identified transgender “pastor” is explaining that her transgender lifestyle may not be in sync with the Bible, but that’s all right for her as a pastor, as the Bible wasn’t written for 2024.
The stunning conclusion comes from an individual, a woman representing herself as a man, who appeared on a CBS show talking about faith in transition.
Asked about the Bible’s clear definition of male and female and explanation of how God made them, “male and female,” she simply went to the next level.
“It’s hard to relate it to modern-day times because it wasn’t written for 2024. It was written for then. When we read in the scripture that God created man and woman, yes, and God created everyone else, as well,” the pastor said.
Weeks after the Secret Service failed to protect him and God turned his head so that only his ear got shot, Trump spoke to a massive crowd in Butler Pennsylvania.
Conversely, when offered the chance for an interview or debate on Fox, Kamala refused. Fox isn’t even really on the right anymore if you check their record or management.
What does that say about being a leader? What does it show about their character?
Trump was on the ground in the midst of Hurricane Helene’s recovery a week before FEMA moved in to interfere with the help and recovery going on. He personally donated $25 million to the disaster recovery.
Kamala went on a Porn podcast and was in California for a fundraiser.
It kind of speaks for itself.
I have a cousin who claims discernment, yet wouldn’t support Trump because of the hypergamy of some women who let themselves be available to him years ago. Kamala’s husband Emhoff screwed the housekeeper/nanny of his first wife and got her pregnant. He then hit an interim girlfriend so hard that he turned her around. He was a misogynist at his law firm yet my cousin thinks Trump is the problem. So much for discernment.
It shows that when we need a leader, not a politician for president, one will show up and the other will fake an accent to accommodate a media image. That is not a leader or one to be the head of the free world.
On CNBC’s Squawk Box, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis was asked about VP Kamala Harris’s criticism of him supposedly not taking her phone calls.
DeSantis didn’t hold back:
I am working with the president of the United States. I’m working with the director of FEMA. I’m marshaling all my state assets. We’ve been doing this now nonstop for over two weeks between Helene and this, and so if there’s anything I can leverage to benefit my people, I’m going to do it. The fact of the matter is they put out a story saying, I didn’t even know she was trying to reach me but she has no role in this process.
I’ve been dealing with these storms in Florida under both Trump and Biden. Neither of them ever politicized it. And in fact, all the storms I’ve dealt with under this administration, although I’ve worked well with the president, she has never called in Florida. She has never offered any support. So what she’s doing is she’s trying to inject herself into this because of her political campaign. So as the governor here who’s leading this, I don’t have time for those games. I don’t care about her campaign, obviously I’m not a supporter of hers, but she’s not — she has no role in this process. And so I’m working with the people I need to be working with. We’re leveraging the resources I need to be leveraging. And for her to try to say that my focus should be on catering to her rather than worrying about my own people, just shows she doesn’t understand what it means to respond to these natural disasters.
Even President Joe Biden has been undermining Harris, who has been trying to be the president in every situation since she “won” the nomination at the convention in August.
Biden insulted Harris two days in a row, boasting about his talks with DeSantis and praising the governor.
If you had a million dollars to give away, who would you give it to?

They are the group that has helped the Helene victims the most. They have the people’s interest in mind, both body and soul, more than everyone else.
The government hasn’t done much more than get in the way, but a week before FEMA came, Samaritan’s Purse was set up, cleaning up and distributing aid and medical assistance.
To read a book in college, it helps to have read a book in high school.

Nicholas Dames has taught Literature Humanities, Columbia University’s required great-books course, since 1998. He loves the job, but it has changed. Over the past decade, students have become overwhelmed by the reading. College kids have never read everything they’re assigned, of course, but this feels different. Dames’s students now seem bewildered by the thought of finishing multiple books a semester. His colleagues have noticed the same problem. Many students no longer arrive at college—even at highly selective, elite colleges—prepared to read books.

This development puzzled Dames until one day during the fall 2022 semester, when a first-year student came to his office hours to share how challenging she had found the early assignments. Lit Hum often requires students to read a book, sometimes a very long and dense one, in just a week or two. But the student told Dames that, at her public high school, she had never been required to read an entire book. She had been assigned excerpts, poetry, and news articles, but not a single book cover to cover.
“My jaw dropped,” Dames told me. The anecdote helped explain the change he was seeing in his students: It’s not that they don’t want to do the reading. It’s that they don’t know how. Middle and high schools have stopped asking them to.
Kamala Harris has lots of problems as a candidate for the highest office in the land, and her allies in the state media are painfully aware of her obvious shortcomings – one of which is her crucial inability to garner the support of male voters.
To be clear: no one, male or female, truly likes Kamala Harris, because as a politician she is unlikeable. She is not a leader. She’s not a person of principle. She’s not “the smartest person in the room,” as people used to say of Barack Obama. She has exactly zero gravitas. She’s not charismatic, competent, or even articulate. Over the last century, there’s been a systematic dismantling of the educational system as its focus shifted from creating an empowered electorate to producing subservient citizens who only existed to fill their pre-designated societal roles. To illustrate:
• In 1903 John D. Rockefeller founded the General Education Board,1 which over the decades (with Carnegie’s foundation) gave billions to schools around the country until in 1973, the Department of Education was created. These foundations reshaped American Education,2 transforming it from a locally managed process to a rigid and mandatory centrally controlled one.
Note: The director of Rockefeller’s “charity” admitted their goal was to have this new model of education train the populace to be compliant slaves who lacked critical thinking.3
• In the 1960s, one of my relatives was given documents by a group that preceded the World Economic Forum which detailed a global plan to impoverish America so that everyone would willing submit to low paying and backbreaking corporate jobs to get by (e.g., consider Corporate America’s recent vaccine mandates), hence ensuring the American people would be compliant and do whatever the ruling clash wished.
I learned about this as a child and have been astonished to see each part of the plan, such as removing critical thinking from American education gradually come to pass.
• Individuals at elite schools the ruling class sends their children to have repeatedly shared with me that the educational process there is very different (e.g., it fosters critical thinking).
• Award-winning teacher, John Gatto, extensively wrote about how American education had been transformed4 so that when children were in the prime of their life to learn and develop their own identities, they were instead locked into a rigid and sterile environment that disconnected them from all the interactions and experiences of life that allowed them to develop their own identities and become highly functional members of society.
Likewise, Ivan Illich made the salient observation5 that once people are “taught” within a rigid framework, they lose much of their inherent capacity to “learn.”
Counterproductive Cognitive Algorithms
Two approaches are often used to solve problems:
• “Right Brain” thinking — Engage the creative capacities of the brain (and unconsciousness), be able to see the broad picture in front of you, and then be able to arrive at an innovative solution to the problem you are facing. This allows immense insights to be gained, but simultaneously, those predisposed to it often struggle to address the practical day to day needs we face.
• “Left Brain” thinking — Memorize a series of lists, hyperfocus on a few reductionistic details, and then forcefully execute a chain of logic or algorithm that utilizes those lists to come up with a solution. This is effective at getting necessary things done but frequently locks the user into being unable to see critical details outside of their framework.
Many in turn have argued excessive left brain thinking (which schooling drills into us) is the root cause of many ills in our society. I agree and believe balanced left and right brain thinking is essential for our society (e.g., this is why I try to show both the forest and trees while I write).
The problem with left brain thinking is that it tends to lock one into a “solution” which excludes the best answer from being considered. For example, in medicine, I frequently see brilliant doctors who are remarkably skilled at executing their clinical algorithms but cannot help patients their algorithms simply aren’t applicable for.
Likewise, I’ve lost count of how many people I’ve debated with whose logic starts from the premise there is no conceivable way any viewpoint besides their own could be right (which inevitably results in them concocting absurd arguments).
Debating Cognitive Algorithms
I’ve gotten into more debates than I can count with ardent defenders of the orthodoxy. In each case, I’ve noticed three salient features:
1. Their arguments are extremely repetitive, to the point I often can predict over 90% of what they will say by the time they finish their first few sentences (which is why I always subtly approach the argument from an angle they are not expecting rather than directly confront them). Remarkably, whenever I question them about this, they have little to no recognition they are regurgitating someone else’s talking points.
Note: Somewhat analogously, when patients see specific specialists (e.g., a neurologist) we can predict with high accuracy give or take everything the specialist will tell them.
2. Frequently when they engage these scripts, to varying degrees they disassociate and enter a hypnotic state where they lose awareness of many things outside the immediate point they are discussing — especially if they are confronted with evidence that overtly disproves their existing belief system.
3. Typically, the “algorithm” they follow is to quickly scan through everything you present to them until they find something that can attack (e.g., because they already know a script for attacking it) at which point, they become unable to see the rest of your argument and hyper focus on their point of attack.
In short, their focus is not on discerning what is true, but rather on finding a way to prove they are “right.” One of the most important things about this phenomenon is that, typically, the more educated or intellectually intelligent people are, the more aggressively and reflexively they do this.

The former head of Black Lives Matter Atlanta was sentenced to prison for stealing donations to fund his lavish lifestyle.
Tyree Conyers-Page was sentenced to 42 months in prison after he was found guilty on one count of wire fraud and three counts of money laundering earlier this year.
According to prosecutors, Page created a social media page named Black Lives Matter of Greater Atlanta (BLMGA) and set up a GoFundMe to raise money.
Page maintained the BLMGA bank account and from April 2018 to May 2020 it only showed small transactions that never exceeded $5,000, Fox 5 Atlanta reported.
However, after George Floyd died, donations came pouring into Page’s bank account “with June 2020 witnessing approximately $36,493.80, July 2020 around $370,933.69, and August 2020 an additional $59,914.69 in contributions,” Fox 5 Atlanta reported.
Investigators said Page used the money to buy property in Ohio, furniture and luxury items. Page also used the money to fund a flamboyant lifestyle which he showcased on his social media accounts.

There are reports that Mission Hospital in Asheville North Carolina was told today, that they will be the morgue for body recovery. As of a few days ago, there were reports of 900+ bodies at the hospital that haven’t been identified.
I was the youngest in every class due to my birthday. In reality, I should have started school a year later than I did, but I was able to keep up academically so no one did anything.
As a result, I was a year behind everyone in maturity. I was always small and learned a lot of social things after the others already knew. It made for a tough time. It was particularly awkward in the whole girl/boy life dance as the girls were a year older, but years older in maturity and size for many of them. Most of them stopped maturing at the end of high school as I discovered in conversations with them later. I was just beginning to catch up the end of high school. Kids are cruel though so it was tough.
I caught and passed almost all of them because it drove me to succeed after banging my head against the wall of life up until that time.
I got no help from my sibling who was 2 years older, but only one grade ahead due to the birthday timing. When She could have helped, she jumped on the side of the other kids to make my life a lot more difficult than it needed to be.

In a staggering admission that is sending shockwaves through social media, Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Sec. Alejandro N. Mayorkas admitted that the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) does not have enough funding to last through the remainder of the 2024 hurricane season.
The announcement comes as FEMA is conducting search-and rescue-operations in remote sections of Appalachia six days after Hurricane Helene made landfall in Florida and moved north, causing widespread destruction and the deaths of at least 183 people across six states. President Biden has in recent days approved major-disaster declarations for the states affected by the storm.
“We are meeting the immediate needs with the money that we have,” Mr. Mayorkas told reporters on Wednesday while en route to meet with officials in South Carolina. “We are expecting another hurricane hitting — we do not have the funds, FEMA does not have the funds, to make it through the season.”
The proposal to grant the agency more money may work, but it will require members of Congress to return to Washington, D.C., and provide the necessary legislative approval.

Your life without a computer: what does it look like?
I lived for over 20 years without one. No GPS to drive. No cell phone to text. I can do math in my head and write in cursive. I took a chemistry class with a slide rule.
We used to say we’d meet friends in a particular place at a certain time. Occasionally we’d have to use a payphone, but many times it was a handwritten list of directions. We all got there, mostly on time and at the right place.
Sure it makes a lot of stuff easier, but I did all of my thesis papers without Google and used the library as my search engine. I still type, but I learned on a typewriter.
My sense of direction is much sharper than the computer kids as is my grasp of a lot of knowledge and pattern recognition.
I think it would be slower, but I’d have a helluva lot easier time than any of the alphabet generations would. They laugh at OK Boomer, but have no idea that we can do a lot more when the power is out and there is no internet.
We just went through Helene and I was fine with no power, no internet and survival instincts I learned growing up.

Back when I lived in Mexico in my early 20s, I came across a document (its author unknown) entitled “ANTROPOMÁXIMOLOGIA.”
It roughly translates to “the study of maximum human development.”
It’s all about how to develop yourself to the utmost. It contains 20 attributes of individuals who make a difference in the world and do great things. In other words, the attributes that make for high-agency men.
Here are the attributes that make the difference, “the added value” that distinguishes people who achieve success in their endeavors.
They are never satisfied with their level of development; they always want to exceed what was previously done.
They avoid comfortable situations. They do things they may not like because they understand the importance of doing them.
They have pressing goals. They not only feel they SHOULD do something but they are driven by their own will that they HAVE to do it.
They never blame others. They solve problems. Any task is a challenge to be overcome.
They like and encourage taking risks. However, they take these risks judiciously and in moderation—never recklessly or without calculation. They evaluate and proceed with tact and without fear.
They have VISION; they can foresee in their minds the outcomes before embarking on the execution of the proposed plan.
They are not slaves to work. However, if they need to accomplish something, they will work 24 hours a day if necessary.
They handle pressures well. They recognize that no one is interested in whether they are nervous or pressured. They know that only they decide what to do with their lives. They need the tension of demand but trust in their decision-making capacity.
They are objective. They are not selfish. They let others receive recognition for an achievement when it is deserved.
They understand the nature of energy. They know that if they apply enough energetic force, they will be capable of moving anything.
They know the meaning of nurturing. They build and nurture others, always leaving things better than they found them.
They understand sociability. They enjoy others but do not depend on them, stepping away from friends and having fun if there are more important or higher-priority tasks to handle.
They use and understand self-discipline. They do not let habits, desires, and faults control them because they have developed the ability to control themselves.
They have COURAGE. They are not reluctant because others do not dare to do something. They make decisions and do not hesitate.
They have confidence in themselves. They do not doubt or waver. Their confidence is nourished by action and deeds.

What can help explain the apparent federal level indifference to the nightmare brought from Florida’s Big Bend up to Appalachia from hurricane Helene?

The young men and women of this country want life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. They are beginning to chart a new course that doesn’t include indoctrination programs from elite colleges and universities.
The authors, Phillip W. Magness (senior research faculty and director of research and education at the American Institute for Economic Research) and David Waugh (managing editor at the American Institute for Economic Research), assessed complex data obtained from surveys that evaluated the political views of higher education faculty [e.g., Carnegie Commission on Higher Education Faculty Survey (1969–1984), UCLA-Higher Education Research Institute Faculty Survey (1989–2016)]. The information confirms trends that Legal Insurrection has long noted: Since 2001, 2001 higher education faculty positions have taken a hard, and “professors on the political left are now approaching a supermajority.”
A hyperpoliticized academy does not bode well for students, faculty, or anyone interested in serious learning. For many students and for an increasing share of the general public, this has turned the educational experience from one of intellectual pursuit into pure activist sophistry. The only remaining question, then, is how long the public will continue to pay for a university system that no longer aligns with its values or educational priorities.
The answer is: Not much longer.
Unfortunately for the leftists dominating American higher education today, graduating students still have to earn a living. So, Gen Z is beginning to vote with its feet and is opting for 2-year trade schools free of hyped-up moral outrage and outrageous expenses.
Community colleges offering vocational programs witnessed one of the highest numbers of student enrollment in fall 2023, as students opting for higher education showed a slight improvement overall from declines seen during the COVID-19 pandemic, according to data from the National Student Clearinghouse Research Center.
Those community colleges with a focus on vocational programs saw registrations climb 16 percent, an increase of 112,000 students, substantially higher than the rate seen before COVID, when it rose 3.7 percent. Associate degree programs jumped more than 2.2 percent, to 96,000 students.
The interest in vocational education began to see increases in sign-ups going back to three years ago, Jennifer Causey, senior research associate at the National Student Clearinghouse Research Center, told Newsweek.
“Since Fall 2021, vocational programs have started to see upticks in enrollments, and specific program families such as Mechanic Repair Technologies grew 11.2 percent this fall alone,” she said.
Legal Insurrection reported Sunday on the havoc wreaked by Helene across the southeast Friday and Saturday, particularly the devastation that unfolded in western North Carolina and their neighbors in eastern Tennessee by what remained of the hurricane once she hit those areas.
Some mistakenly believe that once a weather event stops being a hurricane or tropical storm, the cities that are still in the path of what’s left are, for the most part, in the clear.
But that is most certainly not the case, as Helene had been downgraded to a tropical depression before she reached the mountains and foothills of North Carolina. By the time she moved on, rain totals for some areas reached as high as nearly 30″, leaving historic flooding in her wake.
The images and videos, of course, are staggering. Heartbreaking. This is an area where it’s not uncommon to hear about mudslides/landslides simply from having a few hours of rain from a random storm that rolled through, causing temporary road closures. Unlike the NC coast, it’s simply not built to endure that much rain and high winds.
As far as national news outlets go, they’re covering it but much of what I’ve seen has been frustrating, as they’re treating it like it was merely a bad storm and not something that quite literally has changed the topography of a large swath of the western part of this state.
As for Biden and Harris, the POTUS was indeed at the beach this past weekend and Harris indeed was participating in swanky fundraisers out west, the optics of which were horrible and which would have been slammed by the Usual Suspects had our president been a Republican. Their insensitivity absolutely should be called out. Their rules and all.
But beyond that, Biden has pretty much done what he needed to do in an official capacity to pave the way for federal assistance. And both he and Harris have issued statements about the situation:

This one is easy. My Mom told me about this when I was young. It’s our task in life to overcome. You have to climb the mountain and achieve.
To leave it there is easy and lazy, but the question is about being fulfilled. You feel that way when you achieve, accomplish, or figure out the difficult issues in life.

Is college still worth it? According to Newsweek, millions of Americans are just saying “no.”
Why? Because, according to a new poll, many see universities as a place where political agendas replace useful skills, and they walk away with $300,000 in debt that cripples them for life.
In fact, college enrollment is down 2.5 million since COVID-19, while the share of 18- to 26-year-olds working in the trades has gone from 25% pre-pandemic to 31% today.
Meanwhile, a recent Gallup survey found only a third of Americans—of all ages—say they have confidence in universities: 32% said they have little or no faith. That’s a big drop from just a decade ago, when 57% had faith and just 10% did not.
Of those who lost faith, 41% said liberal indoctrination has taken over, while 37% said college doesn’t teach relevant skills. The rest cited the cost.
It’s a theme that people are figuring out that colleges are just indoctrination factories. While there are a few good ones (see the story posted below) and there are a few degrees needed for advanced education, the social bullshit they put students through is being exposed as not worth it.
Also, in the theme of woke that I’ve been on, people are tired of it and a lot of it starts with colleges.
And thank the Lord for that. Nothing makes me happier than to get rid of this useless pile of crap that let certain groups of grifters exploit social mores and common sense laws to act the fool. Almost all of them did it for money or what I call get evenism. That of course is some perceived justice for their butt-hurt feelings of not getting their way, so they acted up. Almost all of what they based their activism on was or is wrong, factually, morally, or any other way.

When I moved to North Carolina, it was the South. All the northerners came in and the big cities like Charlotte, Chapel Hill, Raleigh, and the like became liberal magnets. When I first got there, people would let you into traffic. Now, it’s like driving in Manhattan, or Florida. I left Florida to get away from the rude Northerners who ruined that place also.
Worst of all, they vote for all the policies that ruined their liberal states. I can’t believe that NC is a toss-up in the current election. It used to be a reliable red state.
I’ve moved now back to the South by leaving NC, but I see the damage that is done. Don’t come here and ruin the rest of the good part of the country.

I got hit pretty hard by the storm. The power went out last night and we made it through the mid-day until it came back on.
We easily made breakfast and coffee because our stove is natural gas. Biden wants to ban them, but why? They can cut the electricity off if you do not obey. The gas worked just fine without any power.
There is going to be a lot of clean up and the water continues to rise on the 3 rivers near my house, but at least it’s passed through now.

It kind of makes sense when you read it, but I never put the pattern together until this. Thinking with emotion rather than fact. Short term knee jerk reaction without considering the long term ramifications.

Instead of a measured, data-driven approach, we saw a wave of panic wash over the entire globe, pushing us into lockdowns, school closures, and economic chaos—all based on worst-case scenarios and the inability to see beyond the immediate threat. Sadly, this is the very essence of the female reaction: focusing on the here and now without pausing to consider the bigger ramifications. It’s like the entire world was thrown into the arms of a frantic, overly protective helicopter mother who was desperate to shield her children from danger and ended up causing more harm than good.
But, instead of assessing the situation with calm and reason, the response was sheer hysteria. We shut down entire economies, isolated people from their loved ones, and wreaked havoc on children’s social, mental, and physical development—all for what? A fear-driven, knee-jerk reaction that had “hysterical woman” written all over it.
You could argue that the “woman’s worldview” is rooted in a Karen mentality that suffocates and bullies people into submission. It’s that anxious helicopters need to control everyone and everything, no matter the cost or consequences. That’s exactly what we saw unfold with COVID. And the saddest part? The men who should have known better, who should have been stronger stewards of leadership, were steamrolled by this hyper-emotional, controlling mindset, allowing the entire world to spiral into chaos and despair.
