With Good Reason, More Americans Are Skipping College

Is college still worth it? According to Newsweek, millions of Americans are just saying “no.”

Why? Because, according to a new poll, many see universities as a place where political agendas replace useful skills, and they walk away with $300,000 in debt that cripples them for life.

In fact, college enrollment is down 2.5 million since COVID-19, while the share of 18- to 26-year-olds working in the trades has gone from 25% pre-pandemic to 31% today.

Meanwhile, a recent Gallup survey found only a third of Americans—of all ages—say they have confidence in universities: 32% said they have little or no faith. That’s a big drop from just a decade ago, when 57% had faith and just 10% did not.

Of those who lost faith, 41% said liberal indoctrination has taken over, while 37% said college doesn’t teach relevant skills. The rest cited the cost.

It’s a theme that people are figuring out that colleges are just indoctrination factories. While there are a few good ones (see the story posted below) and there are a few degrees needed for advanced education, the social bullshit they put students through is being exposed as not worth it.

For example, for Thomas Aquinas College in California the guide says the following in explaining why it lists it as a “great option.”

The mission of Thomas Aquinas College (TAC) is to renew “what is best in the Western intellectual heritage and to [conduct] liberal education under the guiding light of the Catholic faith.” TAC has an impressive “A+” rating from the American Council of Trustees and Alumni. It does not have a bias response team, nor does it require diversity statements for hiring. It has an impressive 80 percent four-year graduation rate. Thomas Aquinas College also accepts the Classical Learning Test for admission.

Meanwhile, the guide says the following in giving Cornell University, Duke, Brown, Harvard, and Tufts a “not recommended” status:

These universities exhibit a pervasive hostility toward diverse viewpoints and lack robust core curricular requirements, undermining a well-rounded education. These institutions are often heavily influenced by ideologically driven administration agendas and DEI bureaucracies, frequently resulting in limitations on freedom of expression. Moreover, these universities typically demonstrate weak returns on investment, evidenced by lower graduation rates and diminished post-graduation income, making them less favorable choices for students seeking both intellectual rigor and long-term success.

A growing number of high-school seniors in the North are making an unexpected choice for college: They are heading to Clemson, Georgia Tech, South Carolina, Alabama, and other universities in the South.

Students say they are searching for the fun and school spirit emanating from the South on their social-media feeds. Their parents cite lower tuition and less debt, and warmer weather. College counselors also say many teens are eager to trade the political polarization ripping apart campuses in New England and New York for the sense of community epitomized by the South’s football Saturdays. Promising job prospects after graduation can sweeten the pot.

At the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, total freshmen from the Northeast jumped to nearly 600 in a class of about 6,800, up from around 50 in 2002. At the University of Mississippi, in Oxford, they increased from 11 to more than 200 in a class of about 4,500 in 2022. At the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, 11% of students came from the Northeast in 2022, compared with less than 1% two decades prior.

When I moved to North Carolina, it was the South. All the northerners came in and the big cities like Charlotte, Chapel Hill, Raleigh, and the like became liberal magnets. When I first got there, people would let you into traffic. Now, it’s like driving in Manhattan, or Florida. I left Florida to get away from the rude Northerners who ruined that place also.

Worst of all, they vote for all the policies that ruined their liberal states. I can’t believe that NC is a toss-up in the current election. It used to be a reliable red state.

I’ve moved now back to the South by leaving NC, but I see the damage that is done. Don’t come here and ruin the rest of the good part of the country.

I will say that western NC is still mostly pure, except Asheville. That is more like California, also leftarded.

It does say that they figured out that the Ivy League is a waste of money and not a quality education. I’ll give them credit for that.

What’s in a name like Harvard, Yale, Brown or Princeton? If you ask college admissions strategist Greg Kaplan, the answer might surprise you.

It’s an age-old question that resonates among a slew of ambitious soon-to-be college students and their aspirational parents caught in the fervor of the rankings race, pursuing the dream of “going Ivy” – or having some other elite university’s name stamped on their resume – with unrelenting zeal.

But Kaplan warns that such tunnel vision can obscure what truly matters in the search for success.

“We really have to ask ourselves, ‘what are our kids learning at these schools and is it worth the investment?’ Because if they’re going to be exposed to this groupthink where there’s no room for civil discourse, that is unacceptable because they’re not equipped to go into the real world. And what you see is our young people who are getting fired from tech companies because they’re using their jobs as a chance to do political protest, and then they’re complaining about it,” Kaplan said in a recent interview with Fox News Digital.

“We really have to ask ourselves, ‘what are we getting in return for this? And are they going to be able to do what they want to do?’ It’s okay to spend less on college because guess what? That allows you to invest more in their futures, so I think when someone says, ‘I’m going to community college, I’m going to transfer,’ that’s fantastic. You’re increasing the return on investment.”

The California-based expert works with families to help students gain admission to colleges of their choice – looking beyond recognizable names to help students get accepted to schools that are great matches for them.

Reasons Women Should Stop Wearing Bra’s

Since women have never worn bras for most of human history, it raises a simple question. Might there be any downsides to the practice?

• Pain — Bras can cause chronic back, rib, neck, shoulder, and breast pain, often tied to restricted breathing. Many women find relief when they take their bras off, yet they continue wearing them in public due to societal expectations.

What is remarkable about this is that most women recognize this (e.g., a survey of 3000 women found that 46% of them enjoy being able to take their bras off at the end of the day,15 while another 3000 women survey found 52% take it off within 30 minutes of getting home16). During the pandemic, many women stated they stopped wearing a bra once the lockdowns allowed them to work from home and, hence, did not “need” one.17

• Breast shape — There’s an ongoing debate about whether bras worsen breast shape over time, potentially increasing sagging. While the evidence is limited, some like this gynecologist18 suggest that not wearing a bra could be cosmetically beneficial, challenging the marketing claim that bras maintain youthful breast appearance.

• Metal allergies — An estimated 17% of women are allergic to nickel,19 commonly used in bra underwires. This can cause skin reactions, yet the industry, wishing to maximize savings, has been slow to offer nickel-free options.

Note: Nickel is found in various products like buttons, glasses, and belts, so if unusual skin symptoms appear, especially in a specific area, a nickel allergy should be considered.

• Impaired circulation — Bras compress the breasts, potentially impairing circulation and lymphatic drainage (as lymphatic circulation is very sensitive to being obstructed by external pressure). This could explain issues like headaches, indigestion, and an even higher risk of breast cancer due to lymphatic stagnation.

• Breast cancer — The most controversial topic is the potential link between bras and breast cancer. While major cancer organizations deny this connection, some holistic and even mainstream sources21 argue that lymphatic stagnation,22 worsened by bras, could contribute to cancer development. Though not widely accepted, the possibility remains a point of concern.

In turn, there is some evidence to support the contention that bras are linked to breast cancer. Specifically:

• A 1991 Harvard study of 9333 people23 that found “Premenopausal women who do not wear bras had half the risk of breast cancer compared with bra users.”

• A 1991 to 1993 study of 5000 women24 that found:

◦ Women who wore their bras 24 hours per day had a 3 out of 4 chance of developing breast cancer.

◦ Women who wore their bras for more than 12 hours but not to bed had a 1 in 7 risk for breast cancer.

◦ Wearing a bra less than 12 hours per day dropped breast cancer risk to 1 in 152.

◦ Women who never or rarely wore bras had a 1 in 168 risk for breast cancer.

For reference, this is 4 to 8 stronger than the association between smoking and lung cancer and is discussed further in the book “Dressed To Kill: The Link Between Breast Cancer and Bras.”25 Furthermore:

  • A 2009 Chinese study found that avoiding sleeping in a bra lowered the risk of breast cancer by 60%.26
  • 2016 Brazilian study of 304 women found women who were frequent bra wearers were 2.27 times more likely to develop breast cancer.27
  • A detailed 2016 meta-analysis comprised of 12 studies found wearing a bra while sleeping doubled one’s risk of breast cancer.28

“We see climate change as one of the most important existential threats that is affecting public health,” the faculty co-director also told the student newspaper.

Four elite Ivy League institutions ranked at the bottom of 251 U.S. colleges and universities for their free speech climate as rated by the Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression, with Harvard finishing last for the second straight year.

FIRE published its College Free Speech Rankings on Friday, with Harvard tying a record it set last year with a 0.00 score and an “abysmal” rating. But it was not alone. Columbia University also was given a 0.00 score and “abysmal” rating; and New York University, which finished 249th, was given an “abysmal” rating but had a 3.33 score. The University of Pennsylvania finished 248th, with a “very poor” rating and 12.53 score.

“With scores ranging from zero to 100, NYU plummeted nearly 30 points this year, and Columbia fared even worse, becoming the second school after Harvard to ever receive a zero,” Sean Stevens, FIRE’s chief research analyst, wrote in a news release.

“And Columbia, like Harvard, actually received a negative score that we ’rounded up’ to zero. The only reason Columbia was spared from receiving the title of this year’s Worst College for Free Speech is that Harvard’s actual score was even worse, a full 21 points lower.”

When this question first came up, the obvious thought of particular swear words or a pejorative towards feminists crossed my mind.

When reading the biography of Ben Franklin, he inspired me in a different direction. It would be to not use a word that could be judged as egotistical or one that tried to convince someone of your position. Rather, he supposed was if you could inform or educate someone to come to a more enlightened position rather than beat them over the head (which I do here) with your beliefs, you are a better man.

The top five worst universities for free speech also all happen to be mostly Ivy League institutions, according to a major new student survey released today by the Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression.

Harvard, Columbia, New York University, the University of Pennsylvania and Barnard College made up the bottom five schools, respectively.

Conversely, the top rated school was the University of Virginia. Last year’s highest, Michigan Technological University, came in second best for free speech. In third place was Florida State University, and fourth and fifth were Eastern Kentucky University and Georgia Tech.

The Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression released its annual College Free Speech Rankings for 2024 on Thursday. The free speech climate of 257 of America’s universities was assessed by 58,807 students who responded to a College Pulse online survey from Jan. 25 through June 17.

Exercise, both my body and mind. I swim miles, climb mountains on my bike, play golf, Tai Chi, and take my dog for long walks.

I continue to study foreign languages and take college level courses. I read a lot of books also. I’ve always loved that.

This keeps me busy. It’s hard to stay young.

The Trouble With People Today, This Close To The Election

I was having a conversation with my buddy George who claims he was perceptive. He was giving me the litany of reasons girls don’t like Trump, while standing firmly behind voting for him.

I did get a lecture as to how good JD Vance was because he was young and didn’t put out mean tweets.

I asked him if he’d investigated Tampon Tim Walz. He’d never heard of him. I’m wondering myself how can you be perceptive if you don’t know 1/4th of the Presidential election lineup.

This caused me to wonder about what Donald Rumsfeld said.

I was watching that press conference and it struck me how true this really was. Most people don’t know much outside of their little world and never see the big picture.

That took me to this well-known joke:

A guy was seated next to a 10-year-old girl on an airplane. Being bored, he turned to the girl and said, “Let’s talk. I’ve heard that flights go quicker if you strike up a conversation with your fellow passenger.”

The girl, who was reading a book, closed it slowly and said to the guy, “What would you like to talk about?”

Most people don’t know shit, yet they talk a lot of shit.

I caught a lot of shit from my cousin about Trump’s mean tweets and being an Alpha male, you know the kind that girls let them do stuff to that they wouldn’t a less rich or powerful type. Instead, she went out of her way to promote the disaster that was our current president and how our nation was wrecked by incompetence. She failed to understand the concept of hypergamy. She also ignored that girls sleep with who they want, (most) guys sleep with who they can, except alpha males.

I don’t have a moral to the story other than look at yourself. You probably don’t know as much as you think. You know what you’ve heard and your opinions are usually reflections of other people you’ve heard. That means we all need to get better educated as to the candidates.

Critical thinking is a lost art. They don’t teach it in schools anymore (other than private schools). We sure could use more of that in this election cycle to bring some common sense to how and who we should have run our nation. History for example is a great teacher. We have a lot of it telling us what is the right thing instead of the politically correct thing.

I think our lives would be a lot less difficult if we all thought through things a bit more than what social media and the MSM tells us to think. It’s why I dumped Fakebook and Twitter years ago.

So after lampooning those who claim to be perceptive, I’m not going to do it. I am a person who sees patterns. What I see is a bunch of sheep being told what to think instead of thinking for themselves

Toilet Paper: The Biggest Scam to Ever Exist?

After I visited Japan, I’ve had a bidet to clean my ass. No more shit-stained undies or worrying that you might smell like shit if there was a chance of some oral satisfaction.

Now this:

Ah, toilet paper. That innocent little roll sitting quietly in your bathroom, innocuous, and oh-so-essential—or is it? If you ask me, my dear wicked ones, we might be staring at the greatest con in the history of mankind. Yes, I said it. Let’s dish.

Think about it. We’re paying good money for a product that we literally flush down the toilet. Every. Single. Day. We’re tossing away cash, wiping it on our behinds, and sending it to the sewage system like it’s nothing. Is this not the ultimate racket? The Charmin bears are probably lounging in their gold-plated forest homes, laughing at us all.

Let’s dive into the origins, shall we? Toilet paper is a relatively modern invention, but somehow, humanity has survived for centuries without it. A few leaves, a splash of water, a bit of cloth—crude but effective. Fast forward to today, and we’ve been brainwashed to believe that without this fluffy, overpriced tissue, civilization as we know it would collapse. Really? The ancients managed, and last I checked, they built the pyramids.

And don’t even get me started on the marketing. Those cute little puppies and bears in the commercials, selling us the dream of the softest, plushest experience for our derrières—oh please. It’s a game, my friends—a sly, cunning game. The manufacturers have you convinced that more plies equal a better life. But does your rear end really know the difference between two-ply and four-ply? I doubt it.

Of course, I’m not suggesting we all start using leaves again—after all, we’ve evolved past that (haven’t we?). But isn’t it time to question the necessity of this everyday item that’s silently draining our bank accounts and our forests? There are alternatives, from bidets to bamboo—dare I say, the time for a toilet paper revolution is nigh?

Columbia President Resigns – 5th Ivy League Diversity Hire To Go

Minouche Shafik resigned Wednesday as Columbia University’s president, ending an embattled 13-month term during which her New York City campus was the scene of a series of chaotic and sometimes violent protests by students, faculty and other activists. 

Protests over the Israel-Hamas war began in October and continued through much of the winter at Columbia and many other schools. The protests intensified in April after Shafik testified before Congress

The protests divided the campus, with many Jewish students saying they were fearful to pass by demonstrations. Shafik faced a backlash after calling on city police to break up an encampment, and again when students and others took over an academic building. 

She has seen tenuous support from faculty and administrators, as well as calls from some alumni and donors to resign. She is the fifth Ivy League president to step down over the past year.

So all of them are Diversity hires that had to resign, all female, all unable to lead and deal with the anti-semitism because they were for it. Hey Ivy League, get people who are qualified and not biased.

Now, if Columbia can get rid of the Frankfurt School of Marxism, it might have a chance at being decent.

FAFO – ‘Pig Male Jew’: Ex-Cornell Student Who Threatened to Kill and Rape Jews Heading to Federal Prison

Former Cornell University student Patrick Dai, who threatened to perpetrate heinous crimes against members of the school’s Jewish community after Hamas’ Oct. 7 massacre across southern Israel, was sentenced to 21 months in federal prison on Monday, the US Department of Justice announced.

Last October, Dai raised the possibility of antisemitic violence at Cornell when he posted several statements calling for murdering Jews and raping Jewish women on a popular social media forum. In addition to threatening the lives of Cornell’s 3,500 Jewish students, who are 22 percent of the school’s student population, the posts threatened an attack on a campus kosher dining hall — named 104West  — affiliated with the Steven K. And Winifred A. Grinspoon Hillel Center.

“Gonna shoot up 104 west… Allahu akbar! from the river to the sea, palestine will be free! glory to hamas! liberation by any means necessary!” one of his posts said. Another read, “If I see a pig male jew i will stab you and slit your throat. if i see another pig female jew i will drag you away and rape you and throw you off a cliff. if i see another pig baby jew i will behead you in front of your parents [sic].”

The Justice Department said Dai also vowed to “bring an assault rifle to campus and shoot all you pig Jews.”

“Being as excessive and addictive screen use is routinely listed as one of parents’ biggest concerns for children, I think it’s overdue that we start educating children as early as possible about the dangers of unhealthy and mindless screen use,” Anthony Anzalone, a clinical psychologist at Stony Brook Medicine, told The Epoch Times.

A systematic review from the University College London, published in June in PLOS Mental Health, looked at 12 studies involving 237 youths aged 10 to 19 who had a formal diagnosis of internet addiction between 2013 and 2023. All the studies were conducted in Asian countries.

Researchers defined internet addiction as an inability to resist the urge to use the internet, which negatively affects mental well-being, as well as aspects of social, educational, and work life.

Since her arrest at a protest at the University of Massachusetts, Annie McGrew has been pivoting between two sets of hearings: one for the misdemeanor charges she faces in court, and another for violations of the college’s conduct code.

It has kept the graduate student from work toward finishing her dissertation in economics.

“It’s been a really rough few months for me since my arrest,” McGrew said. “I never imagined this is how UMass (administration) would respond.”

Some 3,200 people were arrested this spring during a wave of pro-Palestinian tent encampments protesting the war in Gaza. While some colleges ended demonstrations by striking deals with the students, or simply waited them out, others called in police when protesters refused to leave.

Many students have already seen those charges dismissed. But the cases have yet to be resolved for hundreds of people at campuses that saw the highest number of arrests, according to an analysis of data gathered by The Associated Press and partner newsrooms.

Along with the legal limbo, those students face uncertainty in their academic careers. Some remain steadfast, saying they would have made the same decisions to protest even if they had known the consequences. Others have struggled with the aftermath of the arrests, harboring doubts about whether to stay enrolled in college at all.

The president of the country’s largest teachers union was mocked for a “totally unhinged” speech in which she shouted about winning “all the things.”

Becky Pringle, president of the National Education Association (NEA), banged on the podium, waved her arms, and laughed out loud as she shouted about social justice last week at the union’s Annual Meeting and Representative Assembly in Philadelphia.

“With determination and defiance, we will protect public education,” she said. “We will fight privatization. We will fight vouchers. We will fight any and all schemes to drain resources from our beloved public schools!”

For the record, private schools and vouchers for kids to get them to a better school have proven to provide a better education. Public schools teach to the lowest level.

This is about money, power and control. She even says so without realizing it.

Duke Believes White People Are Racist

Note: I lived near there for decades. The Duke grads were no different and just as biased and sanctimonious as any Ivy League school. That should have been a compliment, but given the gutter that those schools chose to live in, they offer social indoctrination, not education. At work, if someone started with the college degree talk, we knew to avoid their ideas and input. They’ve let woke ideas ruin both faculty and students under the cabana of social justice.

Stick to basketball, you used to be good at it.

Some precepts are inviolate, non-negotiable, and irreplaceable. America’s preeminent precept was penned by Thomas Jefferson in the Declaration of Independence: “all men are created equal.” At Gettysburg, Abraham Lincoln reiterated this core belief: “Four score and seven years ago our fathers brought forth on this continent, a new nation, conceived in Liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal.” It justified the Civil War. Equality of its individuals was America’s foundational proclamation. Martin Luther King, Jr. appealed to it in his “I Have A Dream” speech: “When the architects of our republic wrote the magnificent words of the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence, they were signing a promissory note to which every American was to fall heir.”

However, Duke advocates replacing the equality of American individuals for the equality of American groups– calling it “equity.” Substituting equity for equality is a paradigm shift and a clash of visions. Individuals are equal, groups are not. The question I posed to Duke setting me at odds with them (and they with me) was: “Please explain why equity is preferable to equality.” Duke refused to answer despite inviting any “questions or concerns” employees had regarding their “Pledge” of allegiance to equity rather than equality. My repeated question given in person and in writing went repeatedly unanswered. Had Duke been forthcoming they would have said something like:

Duke believes white people are racists. The primary (perhaps only) reason Blacks as a group are less wealthy and have poorer health outcomes is due to the unconscious racism of white people. Duke believes Blacks will never be as well off as white people under the American meritocratic system because it primarily advantages whites. The sole hope Blacks have for obtaining economic and health parity is for it to be given to them. We will know when unconscious racism has been overcome when health and financial outcomes among groups are equal.” That is- you are a racist until outcomes are equal.

For Duke, the supposed deleterious effect of unconscious thoughts necessitates ending the free enterprise system because Blacks cannot compete in a free-market economy given that whites are unconscious racists. It is insuperable. Never-mind the median household income for groups in America from top earners down is: Indians, Filipino, Taiwanese, Sri Lankan, Japanese, Malaysian, Chinese, Pakistani, and then White Americans. America is a success story.

Duke is leading us away from the successful melting-pot vision to the dreadfully unsuccessful socialist vision with this single flash of (pseudo)inspiration- “whites are unconscious racists.” What becomes foundational to Duke is not that people are “created equal” but that whites are “unconscious racists.” Duke cultivates a society where black patients should prefer black doctors (because whites are unconsciously killing them) and everyone else should avoid black doctors if hired under DEI (Didn’t Earn It).

The imagined and almost hysterical importance ascribed to unconscious racism [which is unquantifiable and highly suspect] is surely a flimsy pretense for sacrificing your birthright as an American (black, white or any other color). I wouldn’t be bamboozled, cowed or silenced by this tulip bulb mania which is bound to collapse. They claim unconscious racism justifies collectivism and a “fundamental transformation” to the American experiment. But unconscious racism is a modern day witch-hunt: “Prove you are not a witch/racist.” People should be judged by their words and deeds only, not by mental telepathists who presume to read your mind- sheer absurdity.

Duke further promotes group collectivism through social justice. Why do we need “social” justice? Does justice need a modifier? Why not simply treat each individual with justice- period? Justice means giving each person what he or she deserves. But Duke wishes you to think collectively, not individually, therefore they talk of social justice for groups rather than of justice for individuals. Treating each individual justly will ensure social justice. All justice is social. A person on a deserted island can be neither just nor unjust.

Americans don’t want equity, we want equality. We don’t want social justice, we want justice. Socialists, collectivists, and Marxists aim for equity and social justice whose end is poverty and subjugation. Classical Liberalists, free-marketers, and individualists aim after equality and justice whose end is prosperity and freedom.

Resist the collectivists. Resist the socialists. Resist the cultural Marxists (with their oppressor/oppressed model feverishly fomented by Marx in his Communist Manifesto and parroted by Duke). Every time they say “equity,” you say “equality” twice as loud.

Don’t let them use the blighted, unscientific slander of “unconscious racism” to shoehorn socialism into society. Yes, it’s unscientific. When I asked Duke for the clinical/scientific data used for asserting “racism is a public health crisis,” they had none (Zero) despite earlier claims. They backtracked saying they relied on “social science” data. I have social science data Duke probably doesn’t want to hear. Of course there was no clinical data. It’s not a scientifically provable hypothesis but a failed political ideology.

Duke refused to answer because equity is based wholly on their belief in the unconscious racism of white people- a pretentious, dubious, insulting, and risible pretense for wealth redistribution. Here is the last question for Duke on my departure: Is Duke dedicated to the American proposition that all men are created equal, or to the socialist proposition that all groups should be made equal? You can’t serve two masters.

3 in 10 campus ‘pro-Palestine’ protesters had job offer rescinded in past six months: Survey

A recent survey found that 3 in 10 college students or recent graduates had job offers rescinded as a result of their “pro-Palestine” activism.

Intelligent surveyed 672 students or recent college graduates who have engaged in anti-Israel activism and found that 29% of them had a job offer rescinded in the past six months and 55% believe there was bias against them in the hiring process because of their activism.

7 in 10 pro-Palestine activists said they were asked about their protest history during the interview process, according to the survey results.

Intelligent Chief Education and Career Development Advisor Huy Nguyen said that the results are consistent with other studies.

“It’s consistent with another study that we performed where employers expressed concerns that hiring protestors and strongly vocal activists might cause distractions and disruptions in the workplace and negatively impact their workplace,” Nguyen said.

21% of those surveyed also reported negative feedback from potential employers about their activism and 14% either had job offers withdrawn or not extended.

What A Surprise, Anti-Israel Protests Are Overwhelmingly An Elite College Problem

Once again, the privileged and their urchins are thinking they rule the world. Someone needs to teach them about real life.

The anti-Israel, anti-American, anti-western, anti-capitalist, pro-Hamas, ‘by any means necessary’ campus protests and Tentifadas are not a working class movement.

But you knew that, because we have covered dozens of these protests and even casual observations reflect that, with some exceptions, this is a movement of elite kids at elite schools. Those casual observations are substantiated by a deep analysis by the lefty Washington Monthly (WM).

“Of course the stereotype was that these protests were concentrated at expensive elite colleges but I didn’t realize the rather extreme extent to which that’s actually true.”

We at the Washington Monthly tried to get to the bottom of this question: Have pro-Palestinian protests taken place disproportionately at elite colleges, where few students come from lower-income families?

The answer is a resounding yes.

Using data from Harvard’s Crowd Counting Consortium and news reports of encampments, we matched information on every institution of higher education that has had pro-Palestinian protest activity (starting when the war broke out in October until early May) to the colleges in our 2023 college rankings. Of the 1,421 public and private nonprofit colleges that we ranked, 318 have had protests and 123 have had encampments.

By matching that data to percentages of students at each campus who receive Pell Grants (which are awarded to students from moderate- and low-income families), we came to an unsurprising conclusion: Pro-Palestinian protests have been rare at colleges with high percentages of Pell students. Encampments at such colleges have been rarer still. A few outliers exist, such as Cal State Los Angeles, the City College of New York, and Rutgers University–Newark. But in the vast majority of cases, campuses that educate students mostly from working-class backgrounds have not had any protest activity. For example, at the 78 historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs) on the Monthly’s list, 64 percent of the students, on average, receive Pell Grants. Yet according to our data, none of those institutions have had encampments and only nine have had protests, a significantly lower rate than non-HBCU schools.

Jewish students across the United States have expressed concern for their safety and suggested school faculty, as well as Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives, are promoting antisemitic viewpoints that ratchet up the political temperature on campus.

George Washington University student Sabrina Soffer, graduating early as a junior in December, told Fox News Digital that there is no balance of opinions among the faculty. While the school has emphasized diversity, Soffer claimed it is only diversity surrounding a singular idea.

“Students are not learning how to think, but they’re learning about what to think,” she said. “There’s no real academic rigor that surrounds learning how to think. So, they’re just getting pushed to get a grade.”

Soffer said that students spend a significant amount of time being fed “propaganda” on social media, which affirms the notions they are learning in class and keeps them isolated in their own “echo chamber.”

She added that this conduct by faculty and students, in addition to the widespread acceptance of DEI, has turned George Washington into a “concerning” and “dangerous” environment.

“There’s also no respect for American values in terms of, you know, there’s a lot of anti-Western seedlings in the DEI idea as a whole. Binary notions, very false notion of the oppressor and the oppressed, where all White people are oppressors,” Soffer said. “And, you know, Jews just don’t fit into that framework at all. So, they’re pinning, you know, false binary notions on entire societies when they don’t even make any sense.”

Amanda Silberstein, a second-year student at Cornell University, also criticized the actions of faculty and said the ongoing sentiments about Israel and Jews have left her “ostracized and “socially isolated” from classmates.

I imagine a lot of those Jewish families come from a lot of money. Never forget that DEI ruins everything it touches, as does woke. They got the double dose with this anti-antisemitism hate for Israel.

The Most Dangerous People in America: College Professors

American college campuses are permeated with corrupted professors who themselves corrupt students. Without a doubt, college professors are the most dangerous people in America.

They’re not dangerous because they challenge the status quo or encourage their students to think critically. On the contrary, they are dangerous because they encourage impressionable young college students to adhere to the doctrines of the professors they choose without giving them the chance to meaningfully challenge those doctrines.

During the recent pro-Palestinian and pro-Hamas protests on elite college campuses, thousands of students put up tents on private property, commandeered university-owned buildings, defaced private property, and chanted disturbing, antisemitic rhetoric. But while we constantly talk about the actions of the students, we fail to recognize that these students aren’t alone but instead are educated and cheered on by their college professors.

At Columbia University, many of the university’s professors joined the protests, donning orange reflective vests and standing alongside students in protest of Israel and—apparently—in support of the students’ right to free speech. Of course, these professors, like their students, are not constitutional scholars, yet they teach their students that what they’re doing is protected.

The First Amendment does not protect the right to vandalize or trespass on private property, which is what these students were doing, or even make terroristic threats or aid a terrorist organization, which arguably many of these students did. The very idea that there were professors aiding the students in their illegal takeover of the university should sound alarm bells.

It specifically says Ivy League schools. It also says that they are more likely to hire from public Universities.

So all of that money gone to waste. An Ivy League degree was a virtual hall pass to a job. They managed to screw that up by being assholes and Jew Haters. Compound that with DEI and you get a toxic graduate.

An Ivy League diploma is losing its worth in many employers’ eyes.

A recent Forbes survey found employers have grown more skeptical of applicants from the most prestigious schools in the U.S. in the past five years – a period marked by race-based admissions, grade inflation, antisemitism, plagiarism, and leadership “double standards.”

According to the survey, one in three employers said they are less likely to hire an Ivy League graduate than they were five years ago. Meanwhile, only 7 percent said they were more likely to hire them.

Employers’ hesitation was specific to the Ivy Leagues, too.

The survey found 42 percent of hiring managers are more likely to hire public university graduates and 37 percent private university graduates, compared to five years ago.

What’s more, hiring managers were three times as likely to say public universities have improved in preparing students for jobs than Ivy League universities.

Asshole Students At Duke Walk Out On Jerry Seinfeld Commencement, Organizing Suspect Revealed

Jerry Seinfeld is by no means the most political or controversial actor/comedian out there, but when he took the stage at Duke University’s commencement ceremony, it ultimately caused a chorus of “boos” and pro-Palestinian chants, as well as a walkout by students.

Seinfeld, who is Jewish, is the parent of two Duke students and an active supporter of the university. He has been vocal in his support for Israel following the Hamas terrorist attacks on Israel on October 7. His wife also funded a pro-Israel protest at UCLA last week. When Seinfeld was announced as this year’s commencement speaker, some students expressed opposition to his appearance over his support of Israel, and warned that there would be a display of opposition at the commencement ceremony.

Areeq Hasan, a graduating senior at Princeton who has not eaten for a week, tells Democracy Now! the hunger strike was a response to the university’s stonewalling. “We feel unheard at every step of the way, so therefore we resorted to a hunger strike,” says Hasan, noting the long history of hunger strikes as a means of protest. “It is in solidarity with the history of Palestinian political prisoners since 1968. … We’re tapping into this long-standing tradition with both Palestinian political prisoners and also in the Irish and Indian liberation movements.”

… The campus has become balkanized by an aggressive focus on racial, ethnic, religious, gender, and other identities through an “anti-racist” and “Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion” agenda imposed on the campus by the senior administration. The “anti-racism” initiative was launched in the summer of 2020, and has included or is moving towards mandatory training, education, and programming that forces everyone to view their lives and relationships through their identities.

Almost everything now is viewed through an identity lens, pitting groups against each other, pitting colleagues against one another, and pitting students against their peers. There is substantial evidence that such DEI programming makes race and other relations worse, not better. We are seeing that play out in real time in the Cornell community.

This has led to an unhealthy environment at Cornell in which multiple surveys show that high percentages of students are afraid to express their viewpoints. DEI as practiced at Cornell is damaging to freedom of expression, and makes the current year of free expression theme on campus inconsequential, if not nearly satirical.

Hunger Strike At Princeton? Let ’em Starve

They won’t last more than a couple of days. They don’t know what it’s like to really go without comfort and convenience and I doubt they believe in the cause that much anyway. It’s just posing for Social Media.

Student protesters at Princeton University who have embarked upon a hunger strike for Palestine are angry that the school is not obeying their demands that the school is not monitoring their health, and even claim that the school is forcing them to do this.

In short, it’s a total clown show.

Areeq Hasan, another hunger striker, said all those participating are “very well-supported” — unlike “political prisoners who are in Palestine.”

Justice Is Served – Business Owners Refuse to Hire Columbia Grads After Pro-Palestinian Protest

Some business owners are expressing opposition to hiring alumni from Columbia University amid ongoing pro-Palestinian protests at the Ivy League school in New York City.

In a post to X, formerly Twitter, Tom McClellan, the editor of The McClellan Market Report said that he will no longer be hiring “any recent graduate of Columbia, because that school is so tainted.

“And I furthermore will not hire any older graduates either, because it has become evident that the academic rot is so deeply ingrained as to taint others who have come through that institution in the past several years,” McClellan wrote.

FAFO – 13 Federal Judges Say They Will No Longer Hire Law Clerks From Columbia University, Citing ‘Virulent Spread of Antisemitism’ and ‘Explosion of Student Disruptions’

Thirteen federal judges said Monday that they would no longer hire law clerks from Columbia College or Columbia Law School after the university allowed an encampment on its lawn to spiral into a destructive occupation of a campus building. The judges cited the “explosion of student disruptions” and the “virulent spread of antisemitism” at Columbia, which has now canceled its main graduation ceremony because of the unrest.

Led by appellate judges James Ho and Elizabeth Branch, who spearheaded a clerkship boycott of Yale Law School in 2022 and Stanford Law School in 2023, as well as by Matthew Solomson on the U.S Court of Federal Claims, the judges wrote in a letter to Columbia president Minouche Shafik that they would no longer hire “anyone who joins the Columbia University community—whether as undergraduates or as law students—beginning with the entering class of 2024.”

“Freedom of speech protects protest, not trespass, and certainly not acts or threats of violence or terrorism,” the judges wrote. “It has become clear that Columbia applies double standards when it comes to free speech and student misconduct.”

Columbia has a student population in the lucky sperm club that hates white, strait male republicans. It’s been that way since Obama.

They hated our country…hated the idea of American exceptionalism…hated capitalism…hated white people (even though they were almost all white)…hated Israel (even though many of them were Jewish)…hated God and religion (they were almost all atheists), and they wanted to destroy America and bring the system crashing down to create “equality.”

Current campus disturbances outwardly resemble past protests. It would be as if they all shared a common script—righteous indignation, yelling and screaming slogans, lists of non-negotiable demands, going limp when police try to remove them, piles of trash, and all the rest.  Don’t be fooled.  Today’s protestors are profoundly different despite the superficial resemblances, and these differences make them particularly dangerous.

Current disturbances lack this rational: self-interested elements and many participants are clueless when asked to explain their action.  In a nutshell, while anti-war protestors wanted to end the draft and avoid Vietnam, and blacks demanded more educational resources, today’s protestors want to eradicate a country of nine million people possessing the most powerful, nuclear-equipped army in the Middle East. Moreover, this mission is to be accomplished by shouting “Death to America” and disrupting classes.  Brilliant, and one can only ask, “Are these the smartest of the smart?”  Ironically, perhaps the only rational participants in these disturbances are the non-student professional agitators bedecked in their balaclavas whose mission is just to create violent chaos.  They at least have a chance of succeeding.

Stupidity abounds.  Why, for example, are so many of these pro-Hamas, anti-Israel demonstrators women who drape themselves in Muslim style headscarves, embracing a religion so antithetical to feminism? They surely know how women are treated in Muslim-dominated nations.  Are these female demonstrators demanding an intifada so they can now obey their husbands unconditionally?

Protestors live in an upside-down world where the “good guys” are the “bad guys” and one’s friends are “really” the enemy.  How is it possible for 100 professors at Columbia University to call the October 7th slaughter of civilians, beheaded babies, raped women, and kidnapped hostages a “military operation”?  One leftist magazine spoke of Hamas’s historic anti-colonial struggle.

Why?  These protestors are afflicted with a condition what might be called Post-Modern Brain Disorder (PMBD).  Here the stricken live in a universe where words lose their meaning and are thus unable to separate good from evil.

A Waste Of Perfectly Good Rubber Bullets When They Could Have Sprayed Lead

Last night we saw law enforcement moving onto the campus of UCLA as they were preparing to remove the pro-Hamas encampment.

They waited until about 5am eastern (2am local) to actually begin after giving plenty of warning to the protesters that they must leave. The protesters refused.

Adulting Is Hard These Days, Especially At Universities

No one is teaching. Or, rather, the teachers are teaching the ego-tantrum, validating toddler politics with their own toddler politics. You have to have a cohort of adults to prepare the next cohort of adults. And so here we are. Anyone who objects to you making your encampment on campus a Jew-free zone is obviously a MAGA jerk.

Pro-Hamas Harvard University students removed American flags on at least three campus buildings. I suspect many Americans were surprised to learn that Harvard actually flew the American flag. Old Glory was replaced by the Palestinian flag. Later, police restored the flags as outraged students jeered. As the staff removed the flags, protesters yelled “Shame!” and chanted “Free, free Palestine” and “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free.” Seems to me if an American university refuses to fly the American flag, we should refuse to send them any tax money.

The Columbia University student who discussed “murdering Zionists” was “banned from campus” Friday, according to a university spokesperson.

Junior Khymani James expressed “regret” early Friday after he went viral online for previously suggesting people should be “grateful” he wasn’t “murdering Zionists,” whom he likened to “White supremacists” and “Nazis.”

Without explicitly mentioning what they were, James copped to inflammatory comments that were first reported by The Daily Wire, during a livestream of an official Columbia inquiry in January.

“I actually kind of hope they do kick me out because I’ve been meaning to travel to South America,” James said of whether he would remain on as a student at Columbia during the livestream.

University sources told Fox News Digital disciplinary proceedings are now underway.

Before the news James was banned, Columbia put out a campus update calling the video “extremely alarming and upsetting.”

“Calls of violence and statements targeted at individuals based on their religious, ethnic, or national identity are unacceptable and violate university policy,” the statement said. “When there are violations of student conduct policies, they are reviewed and disciplinary measures are applied.”

“What is a Zionist? A White supremacist,” James said in the resurfaced video.

Pro-Palestinian students set up an anti-Israel encampment Wednesday in Harvard Yard despite the university issuing restrictions for the area all this week.

At one point, as many as 500 people participated in the protest, demanding “divestment” from Israel and urging the university to reverse its decision to suspend the Undergraduate Palestine Solidarity Committee, The Harvard Crimson reports. Many similar demonstrations have taken place on campuses across the country in the past week.

“We call on you to share our anger as a starting part to continue and constant mobilization,” one organizer told the crowd. “Now more than ever, when Harvard most wants for us to be silent, we have a duty to speak out louder than ever. Free, free Palestine.”

Afterward, students began setting up tents and sleeping bags on the lawn despite signs warning of disciplinary measures if they “bring in unauthorized structures such as tents or tables or block access to building entrances,” according to The Crimson.

Michelle Solis, 46, pled no contest after being accused of raping a 14-year-old student on the child’s eighth grade graduation day in 2021.

A press release from District Attorney Mike Ramsey indicated that Solis, who was a 20-year veteran educator, raped the 14-year-old inside a locked classroom on graduation day, Daily Mail reported. Solis also allegedly sent explicit photos to the boy which “made their way back to local parents,” facilitating the investigation by police.

Solis, who was the boy’s teacher at the middle school, “friended” him on Instagram a few weeks prior to his graduation. Records indicate that was the start of her inappropriate relationship in which she allegedly sent him four inappropriate images. Then, on the day of his graduation from Sycamore Junior High School in northern California, she raped him.”

DEI Ruins A Top High School

The Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology (also known as “TJ”) is one of the highest-ranking high schools in the country.

Unfortunately, several years ago, the Fairfax County, Virginia, school board ditched traditional standardized tests and admission selections based on the best students available and moved to an “equity” formula designed to boost admissions for middle school students identifying as racial minorities.

This caused the percentage of Asian students to drop precipitously, leading to federal court litigation asserting a violation of the United States Constitution’s Equal Protection Clause.

[Equity-based admissions] practices at Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology (“TJ”) has now resulted in a lawsuit filed by the Pacific Legal Foundation. AP reports:

Located in the suburbs of the nation’s capital, the school is frequently ranked as the best in the country, and families plan for years to try to help their children gain admission.

The student body is 70% Asian American, with minuscule numbers of Black and Hispanic students.

The Fairfax County school board voted last year to revise the admissions process and eliminate a standardized test that had been a key part of the evaluation process. It also set aside a specific number of slots for students at each of the middle schools in the county.

Board members have said they hope the new process increases Black and Hispanic representation in the student body.

The lawsuit, though, alleges that the set-asides will end up hurting Asian American families that are clustered in a handful of middle schools that currently send large numbers of students to “TJ,” as the school is known.

Erin Wilcox, a lawyer with the Pacific Legal Foundation, said at a press conference Wednesday that the policies themselves are discriminatory, but the intent is made even more clear by statements from board members who said they want the changes to result in a student body with a racial makeup that matches the county’s demographics.

“The discriminatory intent they’ve shown is intertwined and an inseparable part of the policies they put in place,” Wilcox said.

It’s more than one time, but it’s the same thing. I got asked to do something, go somewhere or be with some people that I shouldn’t have.

It was about setting boundaries. I remember the feeling or not wanting to be there, we’re doing whatever we were doing, saying the things I said or being with the people I was with.

If I had learned to say no, instead of going with the crowd, a lot of things would’ve turned out differently. I would have gotten in a lot less trouble, not done as many stupid things and would have not been in situations I didn’t want to be in.

I learned the hard way to protect myself from these instances and people, and as a result of gotten in to a lot less trouble.

Harvard Medical “Expert” Disqualified in Federal Court Case Due to “Overwhelming” and “Misleading” Plagiarism

As we have reported, senior officials at Harvard have repeatedly been accused of plagiarism over the last year:

So, I suppose it should not have been a surprise when late last month a federal judge disqualified a Harvard Medical School doctor for rampant plagiarism, but it was to me. In my former life as a patent litigation attorney, we often used experts in federal court cases to “establish” certain facts about complex technologies that are beyond the comprehension of everyday people like you and me.

This is allowed by the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, and the disclosure of the expert’s qualifications and the basis for his or her expert opinions is tightly controlled:

[A] party must disclose to the other parties the identity of any [expert] witness it may use at trial to present evidence…this disclosure must be accompanied by a written report—prepared and signed by the witness—if the witness is one retained or specially employed to provide expert testimony in the case or one whose duties as the party’s employee regularly involve giving expert testimony.

Judge Dalton summed up:

In sum, the rampant plagiarism in Dr. Panigrahy’s report leads the Court to conclude that his general causation methodology as a whole is too unreliable to put before a jury. So Lockheed’s motion to exclude Dr. Panigrahy is due to be granted in full. With Dr. Panigrahy excluded, there is no reliable general causation testimony on any of the types of cancer at issue, so summary judgment is due to be granted in favor of Lockheed on the exposure claims of [22] Plaintiffs.

That means Lockheed wins the case, and these Plaintiffs’ claims against Lockheed are dismissed, with prejudice, meaning these claims may not be brought again in any court of law.

Stop Blaming Men For The Marriage Crisis

In fact, stop blaming men in general for your problems.

Charlie Kirk upset a lot of women last week. In a discussion on unmarried women preferring Democrats, he said that ladies in their 30s are past their prime and struggle to find a husband. 

This is obviously true, but impolite to say. Kirk’s statement naturally inspired outrage among liberals, as well as among conservatives. That shouldn’t surprise anyone. Kirk’s opinion runs counter to the prevailing conservative narrative about the decline of marriage. Conservatives say it’s all men’s fault and we need to do more to shame males into stepping up. 

But this male-focused answer isn’t correct. It’s true that men are falling behind in society and leaving college-educated women with fewer options. But that’s not because men are refusing to put down the video games and go to trade school. Rather, it’s because of social transformations that deprioritize men and traditional masculinity. Our economy is now centered around the service and information sectors, both of which are female dominated. More women go to college and graduate school than men. Male wages are in decline and more men than women report zero dating prospects. Women, in contrast, are the big winners of our new society. Many of them now think they have infinite choice when it comes to their life and relationships. This better explains the marriage crisis than men’s love of video games.

Top Diversity Official at Columbia University Medical School Accused of Plagiarism – Another Ivy League Loser School

Columbia medical center DEI head plagiarized Ph.D. dissertation, complaint alleges

The leading Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) officer at a major New York City medical center has recently been accused of plagiarizing nearly a fifth of his Ph.D. dissertation.

Citing a recently submitted anonymous complaintThe Washington Free Beacon on Feb. 29 wrote that Alade McKen “plagiarized extensively in his doctoral dissertation, lifting entire pages of material, without attribution, from sources that include Wikipedia.”

The Free Beacon shared a side-by-side comparison of excerpts from McKen’s Iowa State University doctoral dissertation that closely resemble the work of other authors and Wikipedia.

“A complaint filed with Columbia yesterday implicates approximately a fifth of McKen’s 163-page dissertation,” Free Beacon reporter Aaron Sibarium posted to X the same day as the article’s publication. “Over two of those pages are a near-verbatim facsimile of Wikipedia’s entry on ‘Afrocentric education,’ which McKen never cites.”

McKen’s dissertation, entitled, “‘UBUNTU’ I am because we are: A case study examining the experiences of an African-centered Rites of Passage program within a community-based organization,” was written for a Ph.D. program on education, social, and cultural studies at Iowa State in 2021.

The complaint accuses McKen of plagiarizing more than 30 authors for his dissertation, with some listed in a bibliography but none apparently included for in-text citations.

One of the scholars that McKen allegedly plagiarized from, Chika Ezeanya-Esiobutold the Free Beacon that she found the evidence supporting the allegations to be convincing.

“The passages you shared can definitely be classified as plagiarism,” she told the outlet.

Columbia also is the Frankfurt School of Marxism. One of the worst VP’s I’ve ever worked with is from there. He had a fuse shorter than gnats dick. He ruined IBM for me within months of me hiring on. I was in self defense mode to just not have to deal with assholes like that.

Francesca Gino, a star behavioral scientist at Harvard Business School whose work has focused on dishonesty, was found to have tweaked observations in four studies so that their findings boosted their hypotheses, according to a nearly 1,300-page report detailing the school’s months-long investigation.

“The committee concludes that Professor Gino has engaged in multiple instances of research misconduct, across all four studies at issue in these allegations,” the report read.

Gino, a star academic who had authored over 140 academic papers and snagged numerous awards, came under fire last year after a trio of behavioral scientists published a series of explosive posts on their blog Data Colada, writing four academic papers published between 2012 and 2020 that the Harvard professor had co-authored “contained fraudulent data.”

The university report detailed that Harvard began a preliminary investigation of Gino’s work in October 2021 after the Data Colada researchers brought their concerns about the papers’ sketchy data to the school.

A full probe was conducted in 2022 and 2023, with three HBS faculty members interviewing Gino and people who worked with her on the papers, in addition to reviewing her data, emails, and papers’ manuscripts. An outside forensics firm also was hired to analyze her studies’ data.

When asked about the issues with her work, Gino told investigators either she or her research assistants may have made errors when handling the data — or someone with “malicious intentions” could have tampered with it, according to the university report.

The investigators rejected both theories and provided findings to HBS Dean Datar in March 2023, advising the school to place her on unpaid leave and begin termination proceedings.

Why are there so few women and Blacks in some fields? And so many Asians?

Chiefly, men’s superior mathematical ability explains why they are overrepresented in fields that require strong mathematical talent to succeed (e.g. physics).

Leslie et al. (2015) advocated a model where a stereotype that a given field requires brilliance to succeed scares women away from the field, thus resulting in a self-fulfilling prophecy similar to stereotype threat. Leslie however ignored decades of findings in stereotype accuracy research, where stereotypes are generally known to accurately track real existing differences. As such, a simpler explanation for the data is that the brilliance stereotype results from real existing differences in academic ability between fields of study, which is also the variable that explains the different distribution of demographic groups in these fields due to differences in academic abilities.

As such, the rather obvious explanation for the correlation between field level “perceptions of brilliance” and female representation is that women are somewhat worse at math, don’t like math as much, and tend to avoid math heavy fields. A boring but accurate explanation.

Harvard fellow charged with attempting to smuggle $4 million in weapons for coup in South Sudan

A Harvard University fellow has been charged with attempting to buy and smuggle millions of dollars in arms to South Sudan to aid in a coup.

Peter Biar Ajak, 40, fled South Sudan with the help of the American government four years ago after claiming that he was a target of the country’s president, the Daily Mail reported. He was granted refugee status, and has been working as a fellow at Harvard Kennedy School’s Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs.

But Ajak, and his confederate Abraham Chol Keech, a naturalized U.S. citizen who lives and works in Utah, are now alleged to have been on a buying spree to send $4 million worth of Stinger missile systems, grenade launchers, sniper rifles, automatic rifles, and ammunition back home to support a violent uprising, according to a federal criminal complaint unsealed March 4.

Your Friday Harvard Report – Tramples the Truth When It Came To Debating Covid Lockdowns

I am no longer a professor of medicine at Harvard. The Harvard motto is Veritas, Latin for truth. But, as I discovered, truth can get you fired. This is my story—a story of a Harvard biostatistician and infectious-disease epidemiologist, clinging to the truth as the world lost its way during the Covid pandemic.

On March 10, 2020, before any government prompting, Harvard declared that it would “suspend in-person classes and shift to online learning.” Across the country, universities, schools, and state governments followed Harvard’s lead.

Yet it was clear, from early 2020, that the virus would eventually spread across the globe, and that it would be futile to try to suppress it with lockdowns. It was also clear that lockdowns would inflict enormous collateral damage, not only on education but also on public health, including treatment for cancer, cardiovascular disease, and mental health. We will be dealing with the harm done for decades. Our children, the elderly, the middle class, the working class, and the poor around the world—all will suffer.

Schools closed in many other countries, too, but under heavy international criticism, Sweden kept its schools and daycares open for its 1.8 million children, ages one to 15. Why? While anyone can get infected, we have known since early 2020 that more than a thousandfold difference in Covid mortality risk holds between the young and the old. Children faced minuscule risk from Covid, and interrupting their education would disadvantage them for life, especially those whose families could not afford private schools, pod schools, or tutors, or to homeschool.

What were the results during the spring of 2020? With schools open, Sweden had zero Covid deaths in the one-to-15 age group, while teachers had the same mortality as the average of other professions. Based on those facts, summarized in a July 7, 2020, report by the Swedish Public Health Agency, all U.S. schools should have quickly reopened.

According to a study published in 2022 by the U.S. National Association of Academics, which did not generate much buzz at the time, Qataris donated an impressive $4.7 billion to U.S. universities between 2001 and 2021, just after the September 11 attacks.

This antisemitism is bought with oil money. This antisemitism is imported from the Middle East. This antisemitism can also be a product of the oil business. Qatar buys academic freedom and public opinion, funds Hamas terrorists and European soccer teams whose many fans become spokespeople for the sponsors’ political views. Qatar’s oil refining industry includes refining oil into antisemitism and shipping petrodollars in antisemitic packages to the U.S. university and colleges campuses.

Pi (Greek letter “π”) is the symbol used in mathematics to represent a constant — the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter — which is approximately 3.14159. Pi Day is an annual opportunity for math enthusiasts to recite the infinite digits of Pi, talk to their friends about math, and eat pie.


Pi has been calculated to over 50 trillion digits beyond its decimal point. As an irrational and transcendental number, it will continue infinitely without repetition or pattern. While only a handful of digits are needed for typical calculations, pi’s infinite nature makes it a fun challenge to memorize, and to computationally calculate more and more digits.

My Youth: Church League Softball Fistfight, Nickle Beer And Denny’s Grand Slam

After graduating from high school, a group of us decided to play in an organized softball league. Our choice at that time was down to church league softball. While we played and did OK, which I’ll talk about later, the extracurricular activities were more interesting. It’s later on in the post.

Our team was part of of the same group who lost almost every game in church league basketball, mostly because we were a bunch of white guys thinking we could play. There were some people who resembled athletes on this team. My roommate George and I both played tennis for our colleges, but that didn’t qualify us as good softball players. We had a couple of players who were little league stars, but as a group we weren’t that good.

Before I get started, this is a good lead in to the story.

We didn’t have a fistfight, at least on our team, but it did happen, between two other teams, both of which we played. A lot of other growing up stuff did happen though.

We were in that stage of just being out of high school, but growing up late and were starting to experiment with life. We also weren’t the star players on the baseball team either.

I guess we started out serious. We had just enough people for a team, All Saints Episcopal (we would be anything but Saints). I don’t remember if we had a team name, but it wouldn’t have been the Yankees. Misfit’s would have been more accurate. If anyone bailed, we’d have to forfeit. It was close some days whether enough guys would show up, but we managed to play the season. Of the nine guys, I think we had 4 that who actually played organized baseball. They put up with the lack of skills by the rest of us.

We picked positions and somehow I got 3rd base, far too close to home and a position I’d never played before. I’m pretty sure I was the kid in right field in my one year foray in little league at 7 years old. After a few practices, we thought we were ready to play and tear up the league. I think we believed the same thing in the basketball failure a few years earlier when we won 1 game all season.

In the first game, damn near the first batter of the year, a hard grounder was hit right to me. I was as shocked as anyone when I fielded it. I turned and fired a throw to the first baseman about 5 feet above his head. Since this was over 40 years ago now, I can’t remember whether we won or not. I’m pretty sure we lost as we did a lot of that.

In a subsequent game, another batter hit a line shot and I stuck my glove up and actually caught it. I was as surprised as anyone on the field, but had the sense of awareness to look like I meant to do it.

What saved us in a lot of games was enough singles by us to get batters on, but count on our big sticks, Pat and Mark Greene, Chris Patterson and an occasional lucky hit by others to score enough runs to overcome the errors in the field. Occasionally, we’d actually pull off a great play like a throw from deep left to home to get the runner out. Since the catcher never played before, it was a crap shoot whether he’d catch it or not and that we got the out surprised everyone on the field. He was a Dad who was a good sport to put up with us. He had no idea what we did off the field and was as (in)capable as the rest of us on the field (barely).

We’d go on to be about a .500 team. Being a church league, we were fortunate to face groups of people without any little league players who were actually worse than us, or a forfeit.

In the last game of the season against St Margaret Mary, my parents finally came to see me play. They had Ryan Sanderson on the other side, who was a starter at the University of Florida. Ryan also starred at our high school and it would be like playing pick up basketball with Michael Jordan on the other team. Ever at bat went over the fence.

I hit my only homer of the season in that game, in front of my Dad. It was a perfect ending to my only year of somewhat organized softball. Our team went on to hit 16 homers in that game and lost. The other team hit over 20. I’m sure Ryan had at least 5, or how ever many times he got up to bat. Hitting one out in front of my parents overshadowed the loss. Plus, the following made us forget everything.

EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

On the field, we’d try stupid stuff like our first foray’s into chewing tobacco thinking we would be like the big leagues. I remember putting a wad of Red Man into my mouth and heading out to third. By mid inning, I was spitting everything I could and dying for the inning to end so that I could get that shit out of my mouth without embarrassing myself in front of my friends. We routinely had macho contests to prove our masculinity and I couldn’t fail at this in public.

Fortunately, it was a quick inning and I escaped embarrassment as well as losing my dinner.

After it became clear that we weren’t going to the world series, our other adventures in life crept in. We decided that it would be a good idea to get high before the games and see if we could play. Mark Imhoof who was a regular user provided the goods and the bong. He was the kid who got high in High School, had long hair and a van. He was a good player and the friend of someone else on the team, but he never went to our church. Come to think of it, most of the rest of us had stopped going to church by then also. Since I was high, I’m sure we didn’t play our best, but by then we didn’t really care as much. We came out of that van like Cheech and Chong, trailing smoke.

My roommate George and I lived in his parents house. It was my first home away from home. His parents were missionaries in Guatemala at the time. When the cat’s away, we were the mice. It was the place our friends from the team came to to do stuff they couldn’t do when they were in town and at their parents, meaning drinking and getting high. Many of us lost our virginity there, to the same girl on different nights in different rooms in the house.

AFTER THE GAME

Being a church league team, we celebrated after the game spiritually by going to wherever the pitchers of beer were the cheapest. I recall one dive called the Copper Top. We also went to the Steak Out where you got free Sangria with an order of a steak tough enough to wear as a desert boot. I’m sure they lost money on us given what we drank and we’d go out afterwards for more. We finally got kicked out and got banned from coming back.

There was always beat the clock at Big Daddy’s. If you know the game, the price goes up after a certain time, so you drink as fast as you can at first to keep the price down. We were in college working for minimum wage at the time ($2.00). The beginning price was a nickel a beer and it doubled every half hour. I was hammered by the first tick of the clock as were the rest of the team.

On the off chance that we played on Wednesday, it was also nickle beer night at Rosie O’Grady’s in downtown Orlando.

Nevertheless, a healthy activity sponsored by a religious organization turned into a night of us getting fucked up. I don’t think I had early classes, but I missed them if I did.

That of course led to…

LATE NIGHT GREASE TO SOAK UP THE ALCOHOL

We hit a number of places. Back then, the Grand Slam was $1.99, affordable and enough food to soak up some of the beer before bed.

The other place was Krystal’s. I think the burgers were a nickle there also. It became a dick measuring contest to see how many you could eat. I topped out at 11, but Marc Greene regularly at 25 and went over 30 on some nights. I was in awe of him being an eating machine.

In the end, we only lasted that one season. We were kind of done when we started getting high before the games.

I lost track of most of the players. George and I wound up being best men at each other’s weddings and today are still friends. He transferred out of state to another college and I moved on campus at mine. We never went back to that church again, except for my parents funerals.

Growing up comes in many flavors. This was just the start of my fucking up in life. I had many adventures to come that made this tame.

“If the Board of Trustees takes UNC’s free speech policies seriously they will urge the campus to enforce them. Up to this point, UNC has rewarded the SJP chapter by giving them exactly what they wanted — letting them carry out a heckler’s veto by shouting down a speaker, violating UNC policy and state law, and then walking out,” Cherise Trump, executive director at Speech First, told the Washington Examiner. “UNC is doing nothing to deter them from doing this again.”

“It’s pretty simple. The SJP chapter violated state and campus policies. Therefore, they should lose club status,” she added.

Campus security removed the obstructing anti-Israel dumbs, who disrupted Weiss because of her “attempt to conflate anti-Zionism and antisemitism.”

Speech First wants to know why UNC did not discipline the students despite breaking school policy.

Harvard has a plagiarism problem. At the beginning of the year, Claudine Gay resigned as university president following a plagiarism scandal. Weeks later, the Washington Free Beacon published a report indicating that Harvard’s chief diversity officer, Sherri Ann Charleston, apparently plagiarized passages in multiple academic papers.

Now allegations have emerged that another Harvard DEI administrator, Shirley Greene, of Harvard Extension School, plagiarized more than 40 passages of her 2008 dissertation, “Converging Frameworks: Examining the Impact of Diversity-Related College Experiences on Racial/Ethnic Identity Development.” According to the Harvard directory, Greene is a Title IX coordinator affiliated with the Office for Gender Equity. She has worked to advance “Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging,” and hosted a panel on “The Past, Present, and Future of Juneteenth” in conjunction with the DEI department. (Harvard did not respond to an emailed request for comment.)

All Hell Broke Lose’: Harvard Economist Needed ‘Armed Guard’ After Study Found No Racial Bias In Police Shootings

Harvard economics Professor Roland Fryer needed armed security with him to go out in public after he published a study finding no evidence of racial bias in officer-involved shootings, he said in an interview with The Free Press founder Bari Weiss.

Fryer, a top economist who became the youngest tenured black professor in Harvard’s history at just 30 years old, published a study in 2016 showing there was “no racial differences in officer involved-shootings.” After he published the study, “all hell broke loose,” Fryer told Weiss, noting people “lose their mind when they don’t like the result.”

“I lived under police protection for about 30 to 40 days,” he said during the interview. “I had a seven day old daughter at the time…I was going to the grocery store to get diapers with an armed guard.”

Rantz: Seattle English students told it’s ‘white supremacy’ to love reading, writing

Students in a Seattle English class were told that their love of reading and writing is a characteristic of “white supremacy,” in the latest Seattle Public Schools high school controversy. The lesson plan has one local father speaking out, calling it “educational malpractice.”

As part of the Black Lives Matter at School Week, World Literature and Composition students at Lincoln High School were given a handout with definitions of the “9 characteristics of white supremacy,” according to the father of a student. Given the subject matter of the class, the father found it odd this particular lesson was brought up.

The Seattle high schoolers were told that “Worship of the Written Word” is white supremacy because it is “an erasure of the wide range of ways we communicate with each other.” By this definition, the very subject of World Literature and Composition is racist. It also chides the idea that we hyper-value written communication because it’s a form of “honoring only what is written and even then only what is written to a narrow standard, full of misinformation and lies.” The worksheet does not provide any context for what it actually means.


It’s just the new Godwin’s law to name everything that doesn’t go your way racist or white supremacy. Obviously nonsense. Grow up and join life. You can lie to yourself, but not the rest of the world. BLM ruins everything it touches.

US Women Have Become More Liberal, Men Remain Stable: Gallup

Highlights:

  • Young women’s, senior women’s liberal identity up 11 points since 1999
  • Middle-aged women have also become more liberal, but less strongly
  • Men’s ideological views have changed less but are slightly more liberal

While notable on its own, the slight leftward shift over the long term in Americans’ political ideology that Gallup has previously documented is even more significant when reviewing the trend among different age and gender groups. Increased liberalism since the 1990s has occurred much more strongly among women of certain age groups, while men’s views have been steadier.

Gallup’s national figures on Americans’ political ideology show the country remains at center-right, with more people identifying as conservative (36%) than liberal (25%) and the rest saying they are moderate (36%). However, the “liberal” percentage has inched up over the past three decades and is currently one percentage point shy of its all-time high. This has occurred as the “moderate” group has shrunk, while the “conservative” percentage has varied narrowly around the long-term average, near 38%.

Who Remembers These?

In grade school, we made bags for all the kids to put in a Valentines card for everybody in class. It was before we were old enough to have gf/bf and before the woke ruined everything it touched because some kid didn’t get one.

We’d get a pack of 30 of these at the five and dime and then sign your name on them and put one in the bags.

As I look back on this, I have no idea if I got one from every kid or not. I never checked. I bet every girl made sure they got one though. The girls understood social stuff way before the guys did.

I recall it being a tedious task because just like now, I didn’t really care that much about others socially. I knew they weren’t really all my friends, and this would prove to be true in life as I went to school with these kids as much as 21 year for some (kindergarten through college). 

Puberty hadn’t set in and we (they) hadn’t started imposing the caste system of have’s and have not’s on kids based on looks, sports ability or general group hate. Kids are mean.

Fortunately, I kept to myself and stayed on the sidelines on this, but I knew then what I know now. That is the life of an introvert. As soon as the bags were opened and you looked at the cards, no one cared anymore. I saw this in advance. It’s why I had no clue whether to see if I got one from everyone, or even to check.

It’s why now if I give a gift, I meant it. Conversely, if you didn’t get one, I meant that also. I could never really deny my feelings to fit in. I just didn’t want to and knew it wasn’t worth it.

As soon as we didn’t make the bags, I didn’t give the card.

As I grew older though, my girlfriends all got good gifts from me while they were around. On the other hand, I don’t recall ever getting a good VD gift. Not even VD on VD.

Your Thursday Harvard Report: Second Girl Charged with Plagiarism – This One Is Chief Diversity Officer

Of course she is. Diversity ruins everything it touches along with DEI and CRT. Everything Harvard touches right now turns to shit. 

You’d think this so called prestigious institution would hire competent people with the best credentials, but being woke is more important right now.

It’s not just Claudine Gay. Harvard University’s chief diversity and inclusion officer, Sherri Ann Charleston, appears to have plagiarized extensively in her academic work, lifting large portions of text without quotation marks and even taking credit for a study done by another scholar—her own husband—according to a complaint filed with the university on Monday and a Washington Free Beacon analysis.

The complaint makes 40 allegations of plagiarism that span the entirety of Charleston’s thin publication record. In her 2009 dissertation, submitted to the University of Michigan, Charleston quotes or paraphrases nearly a dozen scholars without proper attribution, the complaint alleges. And in her sole peer-reviewed journal article—coauthored with her husband, LaVar Charleston, in 2014—the couple recycle much of a 2012 study published by LaVar Charleston, the deputy vice chancellor for diversity and inclusion at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, framing the old material as new research.

Through that sleight of hand, Sherri Ann Charleston effectively took credit for her husband’s work. The 2014 paper, which was also coauthored with Jerlando Jackson, now the dean of Michigan State University’s College of Education, and appeared in the Journal of Negro Education, has the same methods, findings, and description of survey subjects as the 2012 study, which involved interviews with black computer science students and was first published by the Journal of Diversity in Higher Education.

Why College Students’ Average IQ Has Fallen 17 Points Since 1939

It’s commonly cited that undergraduates are significantly smarter than average, with IQs ranging from 115 to 130. But as a team of Canadian researchers showed in a recently published meta-analysis, that “fact” is woefully out of date.

Conducted by first author Bob Uttl, a psychologist and faculty member at Mount Royal University, and his co-authors Victoria Violo and Lacey Gibson, the meta-analysis aggregated numerous studies measuring college students’ IQs conducted between 1939 and 2022. The results showed that undergraduates’ IQs have steadily fallen from roughly 119 to a mean of 102 today — just slightly above the population average of 100. In short, undergraduates are now no more intelligent on average than members of the general population.

This finding is interesting for a couple of reasons. First, the decrease in undergraduates’ IQs sharply contrasts with the long-observed “Flynn effect,” which describes how IQ scores among the general public have been steadily rising over time. In 1984, James Flynn published a paper showing that Americans’ IQs had risen by about three points per decade over the prior 46 years — an increase that Flynn found was not attributable to recalibrations of IQ tests, which are performed roughly every 15 years. His finding has since been replicated by other researchers, and the climb in IQs appears to have mostly continued (though there are signs it may have reversed in the first two decades of the 21st century).

The recent findings also reflect the notion that being accepted to college today no longer requires the intelligence that it used to — or at least the sort of intelligence measured by an IQ test. While useful, IQ tests are not definitive measures of intelligence. After all, intelligence comes in a variety of forms beyond what questions on a test can reveal.

“The decline in students’ IQ is a necessary consequence of increasing educational attainment over the last 80 years,” the researchers commented. “Today, graduating from university is more common than completing high school in the 1940s.”

1 in 4 Gen Z’rs Have Mental Problems, Identify As Something Else Woke

A new survey reveals that 1 in 4 Gen Z Americans identify as LGBTQ, which shatters the percentages of LGBTQ Americans in prior generations.

A report released by the Public Religion Research Institute, or PRRI, shows that 28 percent of Gen Z adults between the ages of 18 and 25 identify as LGBTQ.

This is a vast increase in percentage compared to older generations, with 16 percent of millennials, 7 percent of Generation X, 4 percent of baby boomers, and 4 percent of the silent generation identifying as LGBTQ, the study found.

The report’s LGBTQ identity breakdown revealed that 72 percent of Gen Z adults identified as straight, 15 percent as bisexual, 5 percent as homosexual or lesbian, and 8 percent as another identity.

Additionally, researchers discovered that Gen Z adults were less likely to adhere to established religions and are more ethnically and racially diverse than earlier generations. The survey found that adults of both Generation Z and millennials were more likely to identify as LGBTQ than Republican, with 21 percent of Gen Z adults and 21 percent of millennials identifying as Republican.

A survey released in January found that a terrifying majority of Ivy League students are in favor of destroying America through the restriction of basic goods and services.

Just when you thought America’s Ivy League education system couldn’t get any more disgusting, a survey published by the Committee to Unleash Prosperity showed just how dire things have become in the minds of those graduating from these schools. Some 89% of Ivy League graduates would be fine with “strict rationing of gas, meat, and electricity to fight climate change,” as Dr. Kevin Bass wrote on Twitter.

Aside from wanting society to collapse and starve, a majority of Ivy Leaguer’s also feel like the economy is doing fine, they trust the government to “do the right thing most of the time,” and that teachers should have more power than parents. And most of these scumbags are huge fans of President Joe Biden and think Americans have too many individual freedoms.

What type of totalitarian psychopathy are they breeding at these schools?!

As a result of this survey, can we stop pretending that kids who go to expensive schools with big names like “Harvard” and “Yale” are any smarter than most other college graduates? Having worked with PhD candidates from schools ranked from Walden to Harvard, I can tell you, that there’s no difference in the intellect of people graduating from these institutions.

I had to work with these people and it was clear that they only thought they were smarter, but it was clear that they weren’t. We even played on their ego to get done what needed doing by letting them think they were doing something smart as we sent them off on tasks that would stop them from interfering with us getting the work done. When we knew we could manipulate them, it just showed how smart they really weren’t.

Since 2014, an unprecedented number of college professors have been targeted, punished, or fired for what they said, published, or taught. Meanwhile, colleges and universities are becoming even less ideologically diverse than they already were. Professors around the country are reporting their speech chilled in an increasingly homogenous environment.

While you might expect universities to respond to this issue by making efforts to mitigate groupthink, the opposite has occurred. Over the past several years universities across the country have decided that it’s time to add DEI statements as part of the hiring and review process.

How And Why (And Hopefully) The Ivy League Will Die

The responsibility for the destruction of the Ivy League lies not with wokeness nor diversity hires nor a naive donor class, but with the people who are supposed to be keeping the lights on.

Have you ever met a college admissions officer? Who does he or she remind you of?

The answer is: “someone who works at the DMV.” Put nicely, they’re people who’ve done the best they could with limited options. Put cruelly, they’re midwits on a power trip. Perhaps a tad less cynical. A little skinnier. Glasses a bit higher end. But platonically speaking, college admissions officers and DMV workers emanate toward the same form: the ultimate low busybody.

DMV workers afflict the immense class of drivers with their mediocrity. Admissions officers’ victims are a smaller set — people who go (or don’t go because of them) to college. An even smaller set are those who go to colleges that matter, usually measured at about 200 or 300 schools in the mass field of 4,000 predatory loan farms that offer college degrees. And even smaller still are those who go to the best of the best, the places that supposedly mint the leaders of the Western World, the Ivy League.

Why Universities Are Failing

The obvious is that they are run by liberals. It’s the same group of people who were protesting in the 60’s that never left school and took it down the drain.

Now DIE, CRT, victimhood, affirmative action and other nonsense policies have made the sheepskin and education you were supposed to get worth little to not much.

Gone are the days when the best tried their hardest to get in and then get ahead. Besides being woke, the Ivy’s discriminate against Asians and Whites, forcing them to have higher entry standards so that the schools can manipulate their quota’s.

It’s not fair to the students who don’t get in, nor to the students who did get in but can’t keep up. At this point, I could get into the failure of the education system feeding the colleges, but that’s not the point.

While Harvard is the poster boy for the issue, it by no means has a stranglehold on this problem. The California schools are just as woke and have been since hippies.

Since I’m taking university classes right now (Hillsdale College), I’d advise students and parents to evaluate carefully how they spend their money, not waste it.

Harvard President Claudine Gay claims that she is being forced to resign because of racism. As Greg Gutfeld aptly observed on Fox, Gay is not a victim of racism — she was appointed because she is the beneficiary of racist policy. Ms. Gay is a sterling example of how DEI is the antithesis of meritocracy.

While it may seem that Gay is on the chopping block because of plagiarism or her defense of calls for anti-Jewish genocide, the real reason for her downfall is her lack of qualifications for the job. She was appointed not because she was the best or the brightest, but because she fit the diversity profile that Harvard wanted. Gay is the perfect symbol for a university that has become a bastion of left-wing ideology and the enemy of meritocracy.

Does Harvard really want diversity? If you are a conservative professor, try to get hired at Harvard. People who demand diversity, such as the people who run Harvard, are against viewpoint diversity — also known as free speech. Diversity means “it is great to look different as long as you think the way I do.” Conservatives need not apply.
